It seems like the only Chinese brand that is popular with the pros is DHS. Anyone know of professionals using another Chinese brand ? I know Qiu Yike has his signature Galaxy blades but that's all I found.

They have their names on them, but I really doubt that any pros use those brands for competitive play.

years ago, there are more players that play with 729 rubber (Deng Yaping, etc).  In fact for a while 729 rubbers were considered better.

Recently (late 90's and early 2000's) there are more players playing with Globe 999 topsheet.  These includes Kong Linghui, Ma Lin.

About 2-3 years ago, there was a group that was playing with National version of 729-08 rubber.  This group includes Cao Zhen.

I am not aware any current top players play with other Chinese products besides DHS and Haifu.  Now mostly DHS with some version of Dian Chi or Seamoon.

Both Hao Shuai and Wang Nan used the 729 before switching to the Hurricane series. That is why there are rubbers such as the Hao Shuai SST, Wang Nan SP.

Before dhs started throwing money around everyone was using 729 and globe rubbers. To be fair and honest its only in the last couple of years dhs have managed to make as good a quality rubber as 729. Dhs do have a much bigger advertising machine which make it seem netter than it is. They do however have better blades than any other Chinese company, mostly because they are very "Swedish"

Thanks everyone, so basically the consensus is that 729 is a great brand but lags in the marketing department?

Sure, you can use any of the classic 729 rubbers and not loose anything compared to the DHS rubbers, that is true. In fact you'll average better quality with the 729 rubber. They are just not as
"cool". Now that I remember there were 3 or 4 girls in the CNT using 729-08 a couple of years ago, I'm not sure if they are still using it, they were using custom sponge hardness however, it wasn't the version you can normally buy. Of course when it comes to short pimples tons of Chinese pros still use Friendships 802

I once had SuperFX and H2 on two different T-11+s. One day I picked up the SuperFX and played for two or three hours without noticing.

Yes, it could be because I'm just dull. :-)

Somebody, probably someone who SELLS IT, should make a flowchart or something to relate their various products, to help the buyer!

I usually play with TG3 or H2 and I can also play with 729 FX without a problem, there's very little difference and many times I think 729 fx is slightly better

you're talking about the originals rubbers not the boosted or neo ones right?
Blade -- Stiga Clipper

FH -- DHS Hurricane 3

BH -- Japtec Experience

To bluebucket: Thank you for that reply; it's nice to get backup for that observation.
To mrdoodzki: I was referring to non-NEO.

Edit:
I might try inverted on the forehand of a Mazunov again (because of Deng Yaping), and it will probably be SuperFX because that's what they say she used at one point, and because it will be about 5g lighter than H2 non-NEO.

mrdooski, there's basically no difference between the neo and the originals, I don't believe they are tuned, never have. The only difference is that they are vacuum sealed and come out of the packet factory fresh. I go between the neo's and the originals and it's all the same. The difference is less than the variation between individual sheets
