Stunning would be the least of your problems! What if you get divorced and lose HALF of those blades!

Stunning would be the least of your problems! What if you get divorced and lose HALF of those blades! [/QUOTE]You are right. Damn, i would have to select carefully the best ones But my wife would also lose half of her car....but I guess she would prefer to take her car with 4 tires than driving only with two tires and half of the engine Edited by Timo1978 - 04/05/2014 at 3:18pm |

Ooooh that's why Esther Vilar ("The marriage is immoral") wrote once in her book:
"Who boarded the train of illusions, already lost - no matter man or woman" Some years ago I read that book, I recommend it to everyone !!! |

63. Butterfly Defahre
Weight: 85 Gramms Sized: 15,8/15,2cm 5-ply-allwood with old tag with Medium Head Size and no Serial. The Intention for creating the Defahre was to design a blade that was as light as possible and still being able to produce enough speed. With an Average weight of just around 80 gramms the Defahre was the lightest Off+ blade from the allwood section, So the model here with its 85 gramms is probably one of the most heaviest ones. The composition of Defahre is: Koto-Limba-Balsa-Limba-Koto Regarding the Speed it was the allwood alternative to the Primorac Carbon. It has been never available in Europe, I think mainly sold in Asia and the States. The flared handle is thicker than the average Standard, no other handle type except FL have been released. Was sold at 44$. Providing great touch the Defahre combined with the lightnesss and speed were perfect for close to the table loopers. Edited by Timo1978 - 04/05/2014 at 4:05pm |

64. Butterfly Grubba Softfeel
Weight: 88 Gramms Sized: 16,0/15,3cm 5-ply-allwood, here the AN-Version without old tag and Serial. The Softfeel was released in the year 2000 and was developed in the summer of 1999. Sales Price around 30€. Average weight about 90 Gramms and a thickness of 6mm. The head is 3mm larger than Standard and offers are bigger sweet-spot. Rated OFF the Grubba Softfeel is faster than the Grubba ALL+ and has a much softer touch. I am not sure about the full composition but the outer plies seem to be Yellow Aningre Wood that should provide great control. Available handles have been ST, FL AN and FS. 65. Butterfly Manarsa
Weight: 81 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,2cm 5-ply-allwood with straightened and flatened lense and old metal tag. Rated at ALL- with a little larger head than Standard due to the medium head size. A flexible and light blade with soft Feeling was excellent touch. The Manarsa was created to be combined with fast and hard rubbers like Sriver to gain enough Speed. I do not know the composition and the year of the release, but obviously it has Koto outer plies. Because of the straightened lense i would guess it was released in the early to mid 1990ies, I would estimate its release around 1993-1995. Manarsa was priced at 44$. This blade a friend found at a small store in Japan. Thanks again ! I think there are not many pieces left in general, in Germany the blade is not widly known at all.... 66. Butterfly Ranato
Weight: 81 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,2cm 5-ply-allwood with old metal tag and without Serial rated OFF+. Ranato was released in 2000 and was the thickest shakehand blade at the Butterfly Product Range. Blade Thickness here is 8,8mm! and looks already like a J-Pen It is an extremly fast and stiff blade with Ayous outer plies, even faster than the good old Moonbeam or the fine allwood Hinoki Shake Beat. The Ranato was just available with FL handle and priced at 50$. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:09pm |

67. Butterfly Kong Linghui
Weight: 87 Gramms Sized: 15,4/14,8cm due to compact size. 5-ply-allwood with old metal tag and serial. The Kong Linghui has been released in 2000 and had the most control of all blades in the OFF-section with anaverage weight around 80 gramms and a blade thickness of 5,9mm. Blade Composition should be: Koto-Spruce-Ayous-Spruce-Koto Available handles only AN and like here FL. Blade was priced at 50$. This model was not available for sale in Europe, only Asia and US. In 2000/2001 a Kong Linghui model with blue handle has been released only for the European market (ST/FL/AN and C-Pen) Edited by Timo1978 - 04/06/2014 at 8:30am |

68. Butterfly Exalter
Weight: 93 Gramms Sized: 16,0/14,9cm 5-ply-allwood with straightened lense and old tag. Compact head size and soft Feeling the Exalter is rated OFF. Average thickness about 5,4mm. The Softness of the Exalter is similar to the old Keyshot. With its slightly elongated head it was released for topsin oriented offensive Play. Very flexible and providing Medium Fast Speed the Exalter was a masterpiece of European Wood Craftmanship. Blade Composition should be: Coloured Koto-Koto-Abachi-Koto-Coloured Koto Due to its softness working out great for loopers. Available Handle type was only FL. Priced at 48$ when released. 69. Butterfly Coleus
Weight: 71 Gramms Sized: 15,5/14,7cm Coleus, a 5-ply-allwood with straightened and flatened lense and old metal tag. Rated in the OFF section the Coleus has an average thickness of 6,0mm. Due to the compact head size and light material the Coleus was the lightest blade at the Butterfly Blade Range. The quick vibration, sharp pitch and light hitting touch was outstanding for that period. I am not really sure about its composition but I think the outter plies are made of Ayous and the Center ply seems to be Balsa. Coleus was designed for Close to the table offensive Players. Only available handle was FL, sorry for alll ST-Lovers Official sales Price have been 47,50$. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:59pm |

70. Butterfly Adolescen
Weight: 95 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,4cm with straightened and flatened lense and old tag, without Serial rated OFF. The 5-ply-Allwood Adolescen model belongs to the "newer" classic blades series like Cresail, Hermoso or Kazan. The Korbel model is based on the Adolescen, Petr Korbel was using the Adolescen for quiet a long time. Blade composition is : Limba-Limba-Ayous-Limba-Limba. Released in the late 1980ies there are some units that had the old font on blades head. Available Handle FL and CO, ST i am not sure, at least i have never seen any picture of it with ST-Grip. Since Hermos, Kazan and Cresail were available with ST handle i am assuming there must have been produced a few Adolescen STs but maybe they have been lost in the sands of time.. Refering to an older Asian catalogue the old Adolescen have been sold at 5000 Yen. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:09pm |

72. Butterfly Spinart
Weight: 85 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,1cm 5-ply-allwood with old metal tag and without Serial. Rated in the OFF section with medium Speed a blade of the Asian blade range. Unlike the rubber the Spinart blade is not really very known. I guess it must have been released in the early 2000. There are not many informations available. I am really not sure about its composition but i would guess that Spruce and Ayous have been used for building the Spinart. I think it has never been sold in the EU. Handle FL for sure, no idea if other types like ST or AN have been released.... Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:10pm |

73. Butterfly Shoare
Weight: 70 Gramms Sized: 15,9/14,9cm 5-ply-allwood with compact size and old metal tag, without serial. The Shoare was rated in the Allround section of the Butterfly range and has a soft feel, it is a very light blade with much control and should also go well with short or long pips. Like the Spinart there is not much Information available, therefore I do not think it has been a very successful model regarding sales but it is not easy to find, especially in the EU. I got it from a very good friend, so time for me now to say "Thanks" again. Maybe some Asian stores may still have stocks. Blade composition i have no idea but I would say that the outter plies seem to be Limba. No idea regarding its release and available handle types. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 10:08am |

74. Butterfly Ardes
Weight: 79 Gramms Sized: 16,6/15,8cm. 5-ply-allwood with old tag and Serial. Rated in the Allround section the Ardes has a large head, medium speed and should be suitable for modern defenders and allround players. The handle design is a little bit similar to the older classics blades designs like Cresail or Kazan, but i am sure the Ardes is much younger because it does not have the straightened and flatened lense. The Ardes was not sold in Europe. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:11pm |

wow... wonderful collection... thank you very much for sharing...
do you have any pics and info on the klampar tamca 5000? i still have one... and would like to know the history behind it... i would love to see the other first edition tamca 5000 models that were launched... i've got a couple of other butterfly blades as well... like that exalter... funny it said that the blade was made in europe... then immediately under that... made in japan... hahaha... which makes me wonder... blade made in europe... assembled in japan - handle glued onto the blade in japan? i also have one of those elegance series... it looks like it was put together really well, nice workmanship... then i also have an old yuki blade... which had the thin metal emblem in the handle quite similar to applegren, tempest and desmond douglas... it also has the red butterfly sticker at the bottom of the handle... and finally the edge was painted blue (like some old butterfly blades)... i'm not sure, but i think this was way before butterfly produced their yuki hobby bat line... i would love to hear what you have to say, so any information would be highly appreciated... i hope to post pics of the oldies for you to see, comments would be very much welcome...

75. Butterfly Zhang Yining
Weight: 86 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm 5-ply-allwood with Serial and old tag with and wonderful a Limba top ply. This blade has been produced in 2005. The model is rated in the OFF section. providing medium fast Speed. The Zhang Yining model is similar to the Petr Korbel. Blade Composition is Limba-Limba-Ayous-Limba-Limba, same like Primorac Off-. I think the only available handle type was FL, thicker than the Korbels FL handle. The Zhang Yining covers the spot between the Korbel and the Primorac OFF- and should be suitable for players seeking allround power play from middle distance to close-to-the-table Play. Models that have been released later with the letter "I" at start of the Serial number already had the silver instead of the old tag. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:12pm |

76. Butterfly SK7 Alpha
Weight: 93 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1cm 7-ply-allwood with old tag and serial, thickness 6,7mm. Rated OFF, medium fast Speed. Although the Korbel SK7 was a very popular blade among their allwood blade range Butterfly decided to release a blade that should be similar to the original Korbel SK7 but could offer additional speed and power. To Keep the SK7 Alpha well balanced the additional weight was mostly added to the handle region to avoid creating too much head heavyness. Compared to the older 7-ply-models like the old Power7 and Clearfield SK7 Alpha is a touch slower. I think it has never been sold in EU and only been been produced with flared handle. Blade composition should be: Limba-Ayous-Ayous-Ayous-Ayous-Ayous-Limba |

77. Butterfly Phalanx II
Weight: 87 Gramms Sized: 15,7/15,1 cm 5-ply-allwood with old tag and no Serial. Thickness is 6,3mm. Standart Head Size, Rated in the OFF section with medium Speed. The follower model of the legendary Phalanx that Grubbe has been using for a Long time. The Phalanx II has been released by Butterfly short before the shift from the 38mm to the 40mm ball. Other models that are comparable with the Phalanx II are Primorac OFF- and the Korbel OFF and Oh Sang Eun. Phalanx II is faster and stiffer than the Primorac OFF- and provides easier passive and active blocks like the Korbel model. Another advantage is its outstanding performance at looping from half distance if you have been put on pressure by your Opponent. Counter Looping is very easy and the ball Placement of the Loops is very exact. The Phalanx II has not been sold in EU, it has also been discontinued very fast around the years 2007-2009 although the blade has been very popular in Asia. Priced at 40-45 USD Phalanx II was available in ST and FL, I am not sure about AN handle. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:13pm |

78. Butterfly Cresail
Weight: 95 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,5cm 5-ply-wood without Serial and flatened and straightened lense and its famous belted handle. Thickness is 6,8 mm. This unit must have been produced after 1991 after the font print switch. There are some units that have the old font on blades head (Adolescen, Kazan as well) which are very, very sought after. Together with Hermose, Kazan and Adolescen the Cresail is one of the younger younger classic "King Blades". Very popular among collectors and Players. The Cresail has the same blade composition than the old Mazunovs: Planchonello-Limba-Ayous-Limba-Planchonello Personally i think that blades with Planchonello outers are the most beautiful ones. Cresails are offering the same power than the older Mazunovs but are providing much more Feeling at the same time. Available handle types have been ST, CO and which seems too have been produced the most, FL. There have been released different series of the Cresail, some without serial numbers and without old tag like this unit here, one series even lacks the complete lense but has old tag. This series has been made for Romanias National Team. So if you are one of the lucky owners: Congrats, you can be sure to own a really good blade. Many Romanian Players like Tamas, Crisan or Cioti have been using or are still using the Cresail today, same with Kreanga that chose an old Cresail for a very long time as his main blade. The models Kazan and Adolescen (especially Adolescen with its re-release in the 2000s) have been available until around the year 2000 while Cresail and Hermoso must have been discontinued before. I do not know at which prices the Cresails have been officially sold, but i would estimate their sales price at 4500-5000 Yen. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 12:13pm |

79.. Butterfly Compara
Weight: 96 Gramms Sized: 15,6/14,8cm 5-Ply-Allwood with old tag, rated into the Allround section. This has to be a younger models since there were other Units that had the straightened and flatened lense. I think the Compara has been released around the years 1993-1996. The Compara is providing a soft Feeling and supplies lots of control. Combined with a MarkV Soft at the backhand strokes and counters were very easy to Play with, the ball placement with this model was really outstanding. Unfortunatly i cannot say that it suited my Forehand as well Of course the Compara is not a fast blade at all, but with this model it has been very easy for me to put my Opponent under pressure by using doing fast blocks to the tables corners. I would assume that it is also very good blade if you combine it with short pips. Available handles have been FL and AN, official sales Price at 3800 Yen. Edited by Timo1978 - 02/17/2015 at 1:00pm |

80. Butterfly Powersmash
Weight: 91 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,4cm 5-Ply-Allwood with old Tag, no blade print and lense but with sticker like the other models Hichop and Powerdrive Classic. Powersmash has been released around 1986-1986 and was only available with the long ST handle. Rated at the OFF Section the Powersmash is very similar to the Classic Powerdrive. Blade thickness is 6,2 mm. Blade Composition should be Hinoki-Rosewood-Abachi-Rosewood-Hinoki Official sales Price was at 5000 Yen. Since the Powersmash is a very rare blade it is very hard to get and not often for sale, therefore the Prices for it are extremly high. Anyway, when i carefully tried it with the attached old Rubbers it was very obvious that the Powersmash is an outstanding Looping blade "Power-Family" Group Pic |

81. Butterfly Hinoki Shake Swift
Weight: 86 Gramms Sized: 15,5/14,8cm 5-ply-allwood with old tag and without Serial number with compact head size. Hinoki Shake Swift is a very soft blade, Little head heavy and the slowest member of the HS-Series, released for Loopers. Although Butterfly rated it into the OFF section the blade print is recommanding it for allround play. Paired with soft inverted Rubbers I think it is nearly impossible to use it, but it works well with pips out rubbers or with harder classic inverted rubbers like MarkVs or Srivers. The Hinoki Shake Swift has been released in the middle 2000s and was sold in Europe. Available handle type has been only FL. I think some smaller Shops in Asia still have a few old stocks left. 82. Butterfly Chen Chien-An
Weight: 92 Gramms Sized: 15,9/15,3cm Thickness: 6,8mm 7-Ply-Allwood with golden Butterfly Tag. The Blade has been released in 2013 together with the Chuan Chih-Yuan LE (which is similar to Viscaria) to celebrate their World Championship Title in Doubles. Both Blades were only sold in Taiwan. Chen Chien-An is limited to 250 Units Worldwide while Chuan Chih-Yuan is limited to 350 Units (Minus 50 Units that Chuan bought out for his personal storage, so just 300 Units were left ) Speed of the Chen Chien-An is medium fast.
