Yasaka doesn't specify a spec weight on the YEO (prob b/c there is a lot of variance). Does anyone happen to have an idea of what it is?

I had one with 85g before, powerless. Now I have two, 89g and 90g. I heard Ma Lin's YEO was 93g or something. The heavier one has more power required for this type of walnut 5 ply.

could be in a range of 79 up to 88 grams.the lighter the blade is the less kick it offers.

I purchased one that is 89g. Loved it and so I ordered another half a year later, lucking out and finding the same weight. Both were ordered from Tabletennis11. I couldn't be more pleased with their service, weighing the blades and getting back to me.

I have both EU and JTTAA verson of YEO in cpen. EU is 180g and JTTAA 182g. I have not weight the EU one without rubber but the JTTAA is 82g so I guess the EU is similar. I found the JTTAA play much better in transmitting my power with more control. That must have come to difference in thickness. The JTTAA is 6.1mm and the EU is only 5.8mm.
I also have EU and JTTAA version of YE. They have identical thickness of 5.9mm but big difference in weight. EU is 80g and JTTAA is 91g. They both play well. |

what does JTTAA mean? Japanese Table Tennis Association? I've seen people referring to JTTAA blades...is this only relevant for penhold?

That is Japanese Table Tennis Association Approved. Only those officially selling in Japan and China have this burn mark on the handle. They are not limited to cpen.

people seem to suggest that a JTTAA blade is better than a non-JTTAA blade of the same model. What is this all about?

They are all made in Sweden but people believed that those shipped to Asia are specially selected with higher quality and price.

They are just distributed to different countries and have different markings as such. There is also a YEO pro with a red lens and no print on the blade face, but that seems to only be available in China (and to us on taobao).
I am not sure these are the exact parameters they're sorted by, but in my experience: JTTAA blades with the regular handles tend to be the lightest (80g and under) These come in a black paper box usually North American and European (regular) ones tend to be 80g-90g range These come in a generic plastic case YEO Pro (chinese market red lenses) tend to be 93g+ [these actually have the JTTAA mark as well] These come in a white/green paper box
The lightest YEO i've owned is 72g, the heaviest 98g. Average is about 85g, my favorite is 93g (YEO Pro).

I've read that Yasaka SH and CPen blades are made in Sweden and JPen blades in Japan.
My YEO CPen is 82-83 g and my YEO SH (straight handle) 85-86 g.

Do JTTAA YEO blades have the same handle dimensions as YEO available in America? Or are they smaller?
