H3 is so expensive and uneven in quality. I'm looking for an alternative, example 729 etc... My friend recoment some 729 rubber and rotate 90* when glueing in blade to create a rubber like H3. I want to try a rubber like H3 41 or 42 degree, don't need a perfect tackiness but it must be hard and similar in quality

I'm guessing the pips alignment is opposite between 729 and hurricane and rotating it would make it more similar to hurricane, although it would lose the logo/stamp and make the cut rubber illegal in tournaments.

was just gonna say:  i think if you don't include the manufacturers label prominently displayed

it is not legal for tournament use, but, i'm not 100% positive about that

old school:  used to buy sriver "S" and mount it 90 degree clock or counterclockwise like that (no label visible on the blade)....

sriver "S" and sriver "L" had pips that ran left to right, and up to down, respectively

:)

What do you consider expensive?  The least expensive non-counterfeit H3 can be had for $11US from ttnpp.  Cheaper ones sold on the marketplace websites like aliexpress may be counterfeits.

I don't understand about the different degrees.  The only ones I've seen with different degrees are sold on the marketplaces and the stamps on those rubbers are not on the ITTF approved list.  I don't think your complaint about inconsistent quality is warranted if you choose to use those rubbers as they are unofficial and possibly counterfeit.

How to choose?

Spin the wheel. Buy or try out as many as you can find and discover Urself, the  only true way.

I am going back to try out many lower priced Chinese rubbers lately. One rubber I found similar to H3 is Kokutaku 007 for Seamless Ball "Kuai Gong Wang" (King of Fast Offence). Don't understand why they descript it as Soft. It is indeed rock solid hard and tacky like H3. It can be bought for half the price of H3 in China but probably above $10 shipping oversea.

Good rubber, not as durable as H3.

Too difficult to obtain national quality sheets with any reliability for most of us. The best I used were the Nittaku H3 Neos. But I'm not sure what the OP really means in terms of less expensive. H3 is already really cheap (if you avoid Blue Sponges and National).

Tuttle Beijing 3 is my recommendation.
This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.

No need to spend 60 dollars or more and then use the same rubber for 8-10 months its cartatteristiche change already after 30-40 hours of training, it is much better to use rubber to $ 20 and change it every 2-3 months (players professional rubber changing every 5-7 days in training and in race 2 each), the important thing is that the new rubber are as equal as possible (weight-hardness, etc. ---) to those that we used.
