I agree to this post. Ball-placement is very easy with Emerald, although it is a looping-blade in my eyes. The feeling is very solid with this blade. You can feel the ball, what ever you are doing. It is stiff enough, but not too stiff. The control is above average, whether in active or passive playing. When I bought it, I feared, that this blade could be too fast for me (last year I played with Nittaku Tenor), but in my eyes the speed is not sooo fast, I would classify it as Off- up to Off, depending on the rubbers you are using. At first I tried it with my "normal" rubbers (Tenergy 05 FX and Nittaku Hammond Pro Beta, both 1,9 mm), but this combination seamed to be a bit too bouncy. So I took a T05 instead of T05 FX and Secret Flow instead of HPB and this combination fits very good on the Emerald, although I did not like T05 before (I tested it on several blades before). A thin Butterfly Spinart is also nice on this blade. That`s why I wrote, that Emerald "likes" harder rubbers.

1-Does it have this hollow feel infinity has (all stiga blades have) . 2-Do you feel like the sweet spot is small like the intensity or rosewood xo, or it is more consistent all over the blade surface? 3-Do you feel it head heavy like cc5 rosewood5 eb5? |

1. it feels like the handle is solid. when you place heavy rubbers like a globe 999 national on it it doesnt feel head heavy. 2. hmm almost teh same sweet spot size if not larger for the emerald 3. its not head heavy, globe 999 national plus either calibra spin or a tensor rubber didin't feel like it. |

emerald is faster by several notches. even the rosewood is already in the off level. if you want a controlled looping set up, try the intensity nct or infinity vps

In my eyes the Stiga Emerald has several gears. If you play active with fast topspin or smash, it is a clear Off blade. In the passive game it is very easy to control. In these moments it feels like Off-.
If you are looking for a controlled looping blade, take the Emerald and glue an Adidas P7 (2,0 mm) or Yasaka Rakza 7 (2,0 mm) on your forehand. Especially the P7 is very controlled on the Emerald. It`s my actual choice.

In fact as seen in my signature I have a Rosewood XO with BF Turbo 2.0. Before this setup, I was using Innerforce AL(Vega Europe 2.0) since it is known as a controlled loop blade (I still keep Inf AL).
When you compare these setups in terms of speed and specifications given by manufacturers, you can say Rw XO+ BFT 2.0 is much more offensive combi than Inf AL+VE 2.0, but it is not faster by far. Especially when you are pushing, Rw Xo+BFT 2.0 is more controlled than Inf AL+VE 2.0. Also I thought to use much slower blade like Xiom Acro + Yasaka ZAP Max, but Xiom Acro isn't an ALL+ blade as written on it and I couldn't have controlled loop game setup again. I don't trust specifications given by manufacturers. I think I will try more :(

I don't own one, but interestingly a Chinese TT magazine claims the Emerald has the largest sweet spot

During my training, I tested Emerald VPS several time. This blade has a nice feel generally. It is very springy, stores energy well, and can spit out the ball at a high speed. when looping top spin returns, the feeling is good and it provides a clear feedback of the force applied on the ball. when doing top spin rallies far away from the table, the speed is fast and the shots are stable. It is very suitable for players like me who has better explosive power. When looping top spin return, i am very satisfied with the power of the blade. The blade is solid, stable, allows good rubbing and can eat the ball well. When looping backspin returns, the ball leave the blade fast. Therefore, the spin generated is also less. Generally, the blade is suitable for players who focus on the quality of his shots, players who focus on 1st 3 shots (serve and attack) and offensive players.
