I was going through some old stuff around the house and I came across this - a box of 3 star Nittaku 38 balls. I've been wanting to play with these again for a long time now.

Don't do it. Leave them in retirement.
If you start playing with them, I guarantee your first words will be "holy _ _ _ _" Edited by Snakefish - 08/26/2014 at 12:31am |

I have some new Nittaku 38 mm balls in the house too.
But I no longer play with them - nobody in our club plays 38mm balls anymore.

@Snakefish - those were my first words paraphrased. Feeling nostalgic of the old days. :)
@Yogi - still need to break them in. It still feels a bit hard. Your review helped me a lot in deciding to get this rubber. :) @skip- are there places in the world still use them? |

When I started table tennis 11-12 years ago, I played with some 38mm balls which have been left from some years ago. They were pretty nice, more speedy and with more spin!I cannot describe you the sound it was making when it was hitting the fresh speed-glued rubber (the old glue)...just incredible!
