Rubin is in his 30s and has played TT for around 2 years

He only started getting coaching Jan last year and I had to spend a lot of time fixing some bad habits and trying to get him to have correct footworks, among other things.

He is one of my hardest working students.

his footwork is good but he is clipping his right arm a little too much on his front body, don't you think?

Footwork seems pretty good from what I see. Seems lite on his feet. Doesn't get stationary (something I'm guilty of).

Nice work.

Yeah, its somthing that is taking long to fix Cry
I'm trying to get him to open it up a bit more, thus it will allow better waist rotation

Nice work.

Yes, his transfer of weight to the left foot is still too little. You can see it when he needs to go into forehand side. The stot quality also drops alot because of that - you can compare when he is moving into his backhand side.

This video is from few months ago.
He has made some improvement there since then.

He joined in with me Jan last year.
He started TT some months before that as a social player (not sure how many months but was in 2012), before that he hasn't hold a TT bat ever.

I found a video from Jan 2013

Awesome to see that did a lot of improvement on both his footwork and swing. Though the swing could be a bit smaller IMO :) but overall great job.

Thank you :)
I have been sharing all the feedback to Rubin

Some how I find it that my adult student works harder than the juniors.
I have a few adults (over 30 years old) and all started TT these 2 years. They spend more time and effort. Like now, its the off season, most of the juniors are gone and only back again in 6 months time.

It kind of feels that these adults are trying to make up the lost time Smile
