Hi guys,

STIGA has just released a video on their facebook showing some kind of new carbon technology!

It really looks interesting! I don't play with Carbon at the moment but will perhaps give it a try when this new technology gets released.

Do you guys think that they will release a new blade using this technology? Or perhaps more? Any of you have any insights?

Sure looks awesome anyhow.

hmmm, all i can say is that they have been developing these carbon blades for 3 years and they claim it's unlike any other blades in the market now. hopefully i can test these blades maybe end of January or beginning of February.

i hope it is as good as Butterfly's Tamca5000 carbon series.  If it's cheap carbon fibers like the ones found in Allround Classic Carbon, then no thanks.

Stiga is steering toward the path of Butterfly.

190 is quite a bit thicker than 145, probably above 1mm judging from the handle.
Viscaria FL - 91g
+ Neo H3 2.15 Blk - 44.5g(55.3g uncut bare)
+ Hexer HD 2.1 Red - 49.3g(68.5g 〃 〃)
= 184.8g

Seems like thin Limba top ply-textreme carbon -thin Limba or ayous-thick Kiri or ayous center ply. So probably it will be like a mizutani szlc or hayabusa-vega series.

Come on who am I kidding, it's stiga man! Carbon layer would like to be 1k not 3k like a szlc. It will be like a thicker , heavier and springy Vega pro.

THat baldes are looking very thick, that new carbon doesn't look very fast judging from the thickness of the blades.

Hmmmmm.
The carbon pattern resembled me of SZLC ,but when looking at the side-view this may be new!!.
I went to http://www.textreme.com. and see products with this tech.

STIGA plz stop,I hate my EJ disease, especially with limba-carbon.
I'm no longer an EJ and I'm proud .

In fact, be using a third party carbon technology, Stiga admits his big lacunas on carbon technology (textrem carbon is not a Stiga's patent).

BTY developps carbon technologies for TT blades, that textrem carbon is a general technology not designed since the beginning for TT blades. I don't believe a general technology, designed for general use in Sport could by anyways outperform the BTY's or even Xiom's carbon technologies developped specifically for Table Tennis blades.

Isn't it the same for Butterfly?  As far as I know they source their carbon fibers from Toray by the trademark TORAYCA.  It is also pretty certain the arylate fibers come from the Kuraray and the zylon fibers come from Toyobo.

Yeah, I thought Tamca was BTY's proprietary carbon, while Zylon is a 3rd party brand. But maybe Tamca is just BTY's name for a 3rd party carabon.

WOW! look at the size of the wings on those blades! (Relative to where you put your thumb on the handle.) And with the carbon it will be hard to sand them for comfort, without creating a carbon razor blade-like edge. Question

TeXtremely much, I guess. Unfortunately, I don't see anything but the price what could be significantly changed by using TeXtreme materials in TT blades.
