hello i need to find a very specific rubber my criterias are : (from more important to less important )
1- cheaper than 30 $ 2- very good spin ( for 3. ball attacks and serves ) (spin is crucial ) 3- very good control 4- as light as possible ( i am using very light blade i do not want it to become head heavy ) 5- high throw angle for FH and mid-high throw for BH (my blade is low throw i need to balance it ) 6- faster than palio cj8000 please let me know if you have any suggestions ... i have filtered tabletennisdb.com for specific data and if money or some other criteria was not an issue my options would be : air illumina ( i heard i am not sure ) donic jp o3 (expensive ,mid-high throw) adidas tenzone ultra galaxy 9000 3 star ( i heard of it i am not sure) hidden dragon biotech ( this is an option on the heavier side) wildish dragon ( mid throw little heavy) stiga neos tacky ( i have heard of it i am not sure ) donic coppa jo xiom vega europe (mid throw) nittaku fastarc s-1 ( very close but expensive ) andro rasant powersponge ( mid throw expensive ) yasaka mark v hps (mid throw expensive) yasaka xtend ( less spin mid throw ) adidas p7 ( very close but expensive) adidas p5 (close but expensive ) dhs H3 national blue sponge ( heavy , expensive) tibhar 5Q sound (expensive) rakza 7 soft ( expensive ) butterfly tenergy series (expensive) tibhar genius sound (very close but expensive) please let me know if you have more suitable suggestions for me ... |

I really like Genius Sound on my forehand.
But if you like economic rubber, I would get it from www.tabletennisonly.com |

==tibhar genius sound (very close but expensive)==
==I really like Genius Sound on my forehand.== It is pretty good. Fast, light and spinny. Great sound too. Con: Soft (for my taste). I am used to T05/64 hardness. (BTW. I have one as new in FS section. Great price.)

why would you list so many rubbers that are outside your criteria, look every one in the World wants a high spin rubber with great control
and for many people the forehand and backhand sides will need to be different rubbers because of the different strokes, and as you asked for high throw on one side and mid throw ....does this mean you want two types of rubbersss ? do you loop on your backhand, do you do third ball attacks now or do you want to be a third ball attacker? what have you tried already, how long have you being playing, have you been coached could you spend more on your forehand and less on backhand rubber

It was for people who may be looking for similar kind of rubber with less restrictions.
Yes I like 3. Ball attacks I prefer shorter games. The way I play : BH Spinny fast low serves to the corners or close to net , blocking , smashing , less close to mid distance top spin power loop FH : TOP spin looping ,smashing, backspin serves I have tried w-6 with focus 3 snipe 2.2 mm not Spinny enough and not grippy enough not suitable for close to table, 3 . ball attacks Genote quattro x with air illumina x77 fh and dawei for fh I liked illumina for fh grippy and alive rubber but control was little of T 11 + with moon 2.1 mm good but blade is low so combo did not give me the grip and arc enough Now I am using t 11 + with cj8000 36-38 1.5 mm great control very light spin is good but very low throw it is killing me and of course not suitable for looping. I am not sure if throw angle will increase enough if I keep the same rubber with 2 mm sponge or so... And finally yes you are right my BH needs mid to high throw and fh needs higher angle since I use top spin attacks |

Which air illumina version you use ? The RFE 37 version should meet all your criteria.

The best I have found for 3rd ball attack is T-88i without target stamp on sponge. It is indeed a very special rubber because it is:
1) cheap - around 14-18 USD shipping included 2) durable - very tough rubber 3) Spin is probably insurpassable... it is the spinniest rubber i tried which is also forgiving (H3 is just as spinny, but you have to be always in position and hit perfectly) 4) Control is excellent because it is a hard rubber which is very linear - slow on slow strokes, fast as you put in power. 5) nice high throw - massive arc - ball dips and lands... suitable for both BH and FH cos the ball just dips a lot due to spin. BUT it comes with the following drawbacks: 1) it is a hard rubber... although it does feel softer than it actually is... but it's not soft as european tensors. 2) it is not bouncy - which for 3rd ball is perfect... a bouncy rubber makes you lose accuracy on 3rd ball... but if you are pushed back you have to use your power to get the ball over... it won't just bounce back (except when blocking hard loops in which case it is excellent) 3) It is NOT light - I do not find it heavy as other people do... but it's not as light as CJ8000. However, this should not bother you... you gain so much and you will get used to those extra few grams. If you need put some tape over the handle to balance... and it improves grip too... 4) Biggest drawback.... as time goes by (around 1 month of play)... it loses power and becomes harder and less dynamic.... it loses its life..... throw becomes lower... because this rubber is factory tuned.... However, if you have Falco Tempo Long - 2 layers will revive it for at least 2 months and then 1 additional layer revives it for another 2 months etc... If you want the best you can get for cheap and are willing to take it off the blade and reglue once every 2 months - I would say T-88i is the best... and gives extreme high performance for quick finish type of game avoiding rallies.... One big plus is that on serve receive the control is so optimal that you can always return a short serve, very very short taking away opportunities for your opponent to attack you..... on long serves this rubber can loop anything and can override any spin, even the heaviest of underspin or the fastest side spins.... IF you read the serve correctly you have a strong weapon.

stiga neos is quite good, light, all around, faster than palio. before tenergy, a LOT of 1600-1800's were using neos bh.
s-1 is also very good and not that expensive actually. you can get them $30-35/ea. they're very much like bryce in performance but with tensor feel instead of the smooth butterfly feel Edited by kurokami - 11/25/2014 at 1:40pm |

I think for the amount of $ you are spending trying a bunch of less expensive rubbers, you could have just bought one higher dollar rubber that you know fits the criteria and stuck to it.
