    Posted: 11/15/2014 at 1:16pm
Hi,
I´m looking for a fast but yet controllable setup which supports compact strokes.
At the moment I´m playing with a Nittaku Acoustic Large Size Handle (FH:Hexer, BH: Aurus Soft), which I really like but it´s a little bit too soft. I would like to find a blade which has less flex and therefore is more suitable for loopdrives than the Acoustic. However the blade shouldn´t be very heavy or head-heavy. Concerning the rubbers I´m more or less satisfied, but I would maybe change them depending on my new blade.
Thanks in advance,
Felix

My vote is for a Micheal Maze (ALC) ...

Great value for money these days, either new or used ...

Not too far a deviation but increased power from your current blade ...

Thanks, I will bear that in mind. Any other suggestions (Allwood blades e.g.)?

You mentioned your acoustic is soft and after that you were saying is too flexy. What bothers you much? IMHO acoustic is a very powerfull blade are you sure the lack of power is not because your skills. Did a coach tell you is necesary to make the next step in choosing a stronger blade?

BH: Xiom Musa

Stiga Clipper Wood

The rather soft feeling actually doesn´t bother me too much. However I would like a slightly stiffer blade, as nowadays my game is more centered on fast loops. I tested the Ebenholz VII and although I found it lacked a little dwell time, I played succesfully with it. In conclusion, I would like something which is faster and stiffer than Acoustic, but flexier than Ebenholz VII.
In addition it´s important, that the blade is balanced, which is why I have doubts about both P700 and Clipper.

Using the Legend handle, makes the Clipper more balanced compared to using other handles. :)
Main Setup:
Timo Boll Spirit
FH: Neo H3 Prov 39deg
BH: Xiom Musa

Stiga Clipper Wood
FH: Neo Skyline 3
BH: Stiga Neos Sound ST

Avenger 5
FH: Neo H3
Bh: Xiom Musa

If not, you could try the Nittaku Ludeack or Barwell. :)

I would say a M.Maze but if you want something faster, you should go for a Timo Boll ZLC.

I haven't tried Acoustic, but Latika may be the blade you've been looking for. Just specify the weight you prefer and you'll be fine.
Life is too short for defensive play.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I´ve had recommendations for composite blades as well as allwood blades now which I think is interesting.
What is the head size of the Nittaku Ludeack? I normally don´t like playing with blades bigger than 150x157 as they tend to be too head-heavy for ma taste.

About blade balance, some years ago I used to play with P700 FL with T05 both sides (heavy rubbers) and the balance was fine, not head heavy at all.

I have one last question. I read a lot of positive things about the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive? Would that be an option, as well? I´ve had good experiences with Yasaka so this seems interesting, especially as their prices are pretty good.
