Maybe it won't get new players but it can change how people perceive TT as a sport. People want more media exposure, popularity, investments, etc. But is ESPN going to broadcast TT if the general audience thinks TT is a boring and nerdy sport? I don't think so.

yes sure it will (not really) the only word correct was exposure lol, anyway the ittf must try harder to get the sport on TV, we don't need barrier kicking, umpire pushing and crutch shots we need TV

If the sport isn't boring, is it the people who make up the sport that make it look like a nerdy sport?

I've been playing the sport 18 years and have always felt we are not good ambassador's of the sport.

I feel exactly the same way.  Table tennis has this extremely nerdy image in the U.S...and I mean EXTREMELY NERDY (anyone remember the GQ cover that made fun of our Nationals?)...unlike in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc., where it's a relatively cool sport and very well respected.

To many TT players in the West being anal retentive for TT becoming a popular sport, just my personal opinion, and I am allowed one.

Finally they found out the secret weapon to beat China players. This time should be confident enough to beat them. Smile
