Hey guys, outside of the world of paddles a lot of people have tried playing with their cellphone, it's become kind of an exhibition thing along with frying pans and other strange objects. I had great fun making this video of me playing with my Samsung Note 3 and will be looking to make some videos playing with other things like wooden spoon etc. Any ideas, please let me know, hope you enjoy haha

Get an accelerometer app for the phone.  Then you can get an idea of how the phone is accelerating during the stroke.  The problem with the acceleration apps is that they only gather data every 10 milliseconds ant the highest acceleration the phone can handle is 8-10g.

I think all serious TT players should stop playing this sport with stupid things. Makes the sport look bad.

I don't agree. If it attracts attention from people outside of the sport then it's good for the sport. If we always post mainstream table tennis videos then nobody from outside of table tennis is going to bother watching them, it's a drawing card.

Zhang Jike played an exhibition match against a badminton player who played with a badminton racket and it was really entertaining. Pansky and Orlowski used to use frying pans and other objects in their exhibitions, people enjoy it it's very entertaining and different.

I don't think a video is going to harm the reputation of a sport, obviously people aren't going to think that everyone plays with silly objects when they play properly. Perhaps it will intruige them to see how a pro player actually plays with a paddle.

I believe people will get the impression, this sport is so easy you can play it with anything.

Zhang Jike played Lin Dan in the exhibition. Notice they didn't play Badminton with any weird items, they only played TT!

Amazing..  I thought that I was a good player with a smartphone.. I have beaten sponge players up to 1600 with my old galaxy note 2 but that looks like 2000+ level with a phone.. simply amazing.
Not sure if I will use my Note 4... Don't want to break a $750 phone..

BTW, You ever run into the german dude named William who got me into TT when we were both in Iraq? He was prolly 8 levels better than me at the time.
