Hello all!

It's been 2 years since I last posted here.  I took a break from TT but my recent workplace has a table with a lot of players, so now I'm back at it!

Anyway, my current setup is a Galaxy W-6 with Galaxy Moon on backhand and LKT Red Diamond on the forehand.  The rubber on here is 2 years old and it's time for a change.

My style is very backhand heavy (left handed).  I attack/loop a lot, but also like to have some gears in my rubber for touch/chop shots.  I would like something similar to Galaxy Moon on my FH and something a little faster on my backhand.

I know I could simply put Moon on my FH and find something faster for my BH, but I want to try something fresh and up to date.

Here's the kicker, I can't spend too much money, so the rubbers have to be good performance on a budget.

Thanks guys!

I would say the new Moon Speed for both sides if you like their rubbers.

After reading those reviews, it doesn't seem like Moon Speed would be good for me. The lower control and lower throw angle wouldn't work well for me. Need something with similar throw to the original Moon.

I didn't think Moon Speed had worse control than Moon - it's just faster. It's down to individual skill to cope with the increased speed, and you did say that you were specifically after something faster. ;-) The lower throw will probably stuff you up though.

If you want some Chinese options which are medium throw like moon, and non-tacky, and a bit faster, you can try:

729 Battle I (not Battle II - that's tacky)
KTL Falcon

I'm currently using Yinhe Saturn Pro on my BH side, and it's probably about the same overall speed as Moon, but with a more elastic feel (which helps with the gears, IMO). So it's a bit slower over the table, and a bit faster when hitting/looping hard. Might be worth a go, but you won't find it to be a whole lot faster than original Moon to be honest.

If you want to try a semi-tacky rubber, Yinhe Big Dipper is the best bang-for-buck out there at the moment.
This was a great signature until I realised it was overrated.
