final update: last time i gave G-1 stellar reviews, it kept getting sold out >:(
anyway, after break-in, everything works! you can play it like hurricane and like tenergy though the output is more like in between speed-glued bryce and tenergy. not sure if i adjusted my technique through it all. no problems gripping now.

update: session 4
plays awesome. you won't be able to save the ball really bc it's too bouncy, but in all other aspects, on viscaria it plays like t64 on mizutani. that's how fast it can be. on low gear, you can play short game and serve short fine too. the ONLY con at this pt is it takes a certain amount to grip. spin flips are a bit tougher, counterlooping is difficult. you pretty much can only topspin drive when countering someone else's power loop. i will be sticking with this for now.

Just opened pkg and looks good! more premium pkging than previous gen.
very excited bc the rubber feels noticeably softer than G-1. sponge is more porous but still hurricane neo-ish when pinched. color is cream-tan. topsheet is still non-tacky, esn tensor-ish, very grippy, but not as taut as G-1. feels a bit more like joola phenix. you can somewhat see pip structure underneath - good sign. it's supposed to be faster and spinnier than G-1 so here's hoping may be the h3np replacement i'm looking for! unfortunately i'm in recovery...lol. will test as soon as i get out. |
