What I mean is , the letter and number engraving of the w997 and the date , it's on the side of the handle.

Hi piligrim, thanks for posting all these pictures. I'm afraid yours is not the real national w997, it's the so call "copy" or 『復刻』 of the w997 that is not made by the actual DHS research center/factory.
The last picture of the blade and the engraving letters/numbers give it away.

It's difficult to hear the hard cold truth :-\ But TTNPP is just another reseller which they source their product from China, it's just they have everything listed in english and exposed to english buyer doesn't mean all of their products are legit. But that's another story to discuss. Let's focus on how to determine the real and fake from the image I created below: Edited by qualizon - 08/14/2015 at 12:44pm |

Great comparison Qualizon, I am sure that TTNPP initially must have been selling genuine W997 but realized they could make REAL FAST BUCK by selling FAKES at the expense of INNOCENT BUYERS is really despicable.

What TTNPP posts on their site looks pretty close to what's believed to be authentic.

No, look at the 'W', it's wide and fat, the real one has the 'W' in a horizontally compressed font type.
PS: pilgrim, sorry for hijacking your for sale thread Let's move the discussion of real vs fake in this thread: Edited by qualizon - 08/14/2015 at 5:05pm |

FYI.
I have Ma Long Vs bought from Tabletennis11. They have exactly same font like the one you think fake 997. Is it possible that later DHS make 997 for general wider market instead off institute? Or may be later batch DHS factory handles 997 manufacture along with MLV? And use the same engrave fonts/machine? Where is the institute located, same building with factory or separate location far away?

I think, here (http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=72548&PID=889088󙄀) is the right place to discuss those questions, not in this FS-Thread.

Out of respect to piligrim's sale, people should hold off on the fake talk. It's possible the blade is a legitimate replica made by DHS.
