Everyone rants and raves about scaly koto...

How many of you have seen a Hayabusa Zi in person? I have two and the scaliness is exceptional.

Here's an example pic.

I have a zxi with a scaly outer. though it's got a bit bigger 'scalesv than your zi. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, definitely feels a bit different to my tbs outer (regular grain koto).

the whole EJ world is on the bandwagon of Btfly Viscarias w/Scaly koto....IMHO, no 1 seems to care too much about any Xiom or any other brands w/scaly koto....
Xioms (except couple of Xiom 1 plied Kiso Hinoki Jpens) are negative investment as per my US friend's/collector's opinion.

You guys crack me up! Reminds me of the Gibson Les Paul forum with guys discussing the merits of flamed maple tops vs. curly maple tops.

Sheesh it will be covered by rubber. How does it play should be the question here. Yes scaly kota looks nice. Every piece of wood is different with different weight and grain. My Ross Leidy blade looks so damn gorgeous without the rubber on it so I guess I shouldn't be hard you you guys.

Yes and yes. I own Custom Shop Fenders and high end PRS. Lesters are to heavy and don't like them much

It may be a toss up comparing my guitar costs verses table tennis equipment over the years.

Sweet I have Gibson LP Standard , Gibson LP Studio Pro and an Epiphone LP Standard. My VHT Special 6 tube amp just showed up today. So far it sounds OK for a little 6 watt Chinese tube amp. Its cool to know someone else shares my passion of guitars and table tennis.

I'll tell you one person who cares about a nice scaly koto Xiom blade: me.
And I'll tell you about one person who cares nothing about a scaly koto BTY blade: me.
