T05 for sissies? Now that sounds like my kind of rubber! |
haha, yeah honestly for most amateur players at our level, it is way easier to play with rozena/t05 than r47 and if rozena is the same price as r47, its a hard choice. |
I would think R42 is more comparable to Rozena than R47. Don't you think? I also find R42 easier to play with than Rozena.

After a few training sessions my R47 has finally softened and now is playing closer to the Rasant powergrip. Topsheet still feels a tad harder though.
The V42 is actually quite slow, good on terms of short game and control but will not deliver the speed advertised unless on a fast blade (I'm using 5ply wood).
I'd imagine the Rozena would be easier to pick up and play with.

I have the R47 in black. Funny you mention that, I have always preferred the red sheets when I was using Rasant grip and powergrip. For like two years or so, everytime I used the black sheets I felt it didn't spin as well as the red.

R47 2.0 becomes much softer overtime, I will switch to R50 2.0 I think, on a 5-ply all wood it should remain controllable and after 10 hours, it might feel like a true 47.5 (?)

http://imgur.com/a/uf1Mi --> link for all the pics These are my thoughts
about the Rasanter Series rubbers and I am just gonna summarize each of the
rubber’s characteristics. Most of them are very good and some a bit unnecessary
but probably there was an intended design and types of players Andro is targeting
with some of the Rasanter versions.
The R37 is the softest
Rasanter rubber among its brothers. It has a more firm sponge compared to the
Rasant Beat and also several notches faster. It is a more of a control type of
rubber. It is only mildly fast that even intermediate players at max sponge
thickness can control it. The ball sinks deeply into the sponge when you are
hitting hard against hit however, it requires a bit of effort to spin and loop
drive. Smashes are medium fast but very easy to control. Blocking is the best
feature for this rubber. This would be an excellent blocking rubber due to
being soft and insensitive to incoming spin. Weight = 63 grams uncut
The V42 and R42 are almost
similar rubbers and with just a few differences. Both have the same softness
even if topsheet is considered together with the sponge. Basically, both
rubbers are medium soft. Both are very bouncy and fast and I would put the
speed as faster than a Xiom Vega Europe. In a way, the R42 is a notch spinnier
than the XVE. This is best suited for the backhand (both V42 and R42).
Intermediate players can use for some time to further develop their strokes and
skills. Both rubbers are at low to medium height in arc when looping. Best
strokes for this rubbers are either smashing or blocking. V42 = 64 grams uncut;
R42 = 66grams uncut
The V47 and the R47 a
distinction or 2 from each other which is speed and spin. The V47 being the
faster one and it is very bouncy. I can compare the speed at the level of a
TIbhar MX-P but the V47 feels like a much more firm than Aurus. The V47 is purely more on hitting, smashing,
counter driving. I would choose Counter driving as its best asset and this is
medium to far distance from the table. It is easier to counter with this
version than the R47 because it has lesser spin sensitivity and very fast
speed. I could put it in par with MX-P or Joola Rhyzm 48 in terms of speed with
spin slightly lower. The R47 however has it all – spin, speed, control. I think
even without the V47, the R47 will still be preferred by more players since it
has more spin and it can almost do everything the V47 can do. The R47 is good
both inside and far from the table. You can flick well with it and do drop
shots while maintaining control. V47 = 68grams ; R47 = 69grams
The R50 is my favorite
among the 6 rubbers. It is not the fastest rubber among the series because both
the 47 version rubbers are faster than the R50. Sometimes, I would find the 42
degree versions bouncier than the R50. The powergrip version has some
similarities with the R50 but the R50 is very easy to produce spin. The
topsheet and sponge grips the ball easily compared to the Powergrip which I
find not so spinny before unless you put some effort. I find it very spinny and
I would rate the spin as a little less than mx-s but spinnier than el-s at slow
loops. If I compare it with the MX-P, the MX-P seems spinnier on stronger shots
while R50 is spinnier on slow spinny loops. The speed is good enough and it is
in the level of EL-S but it is not too bouncy. Moreover, I would like to
describe it as an MX-S rubber with an increased speed. I like it better than
the EL-S because there are some shots with the EL-S that seems dead or less
lively. The R50 can serve and push well because of the grippy topsheet. It
behaves almost like a Chinese rubber inside the table using drop shots or short
pushes while maintaining the spin. I would recommend it both as a forehand and
backhand rubber. It is not even choosy with the blade. R50 = 72 grams uncut

Mr. Yogi can you please compare R42 with rakza 7 soft, I still have no idea what new generation rubber (for plastic ball) should I use to replace my r7soft on backhand. Thank you.

i think rakza 7 soft is a tad softer but if you are used to it already in your backhand, i suggest you stay with it. even with polyballs it is still good.

Guess I'm bumping a old thread.
Anything comparable to Barracuda 2.0? It seems like 42 is softer and 47 might be harder.

I'm looking for something just a little harder on the sponge but not giving up the spin. Baracuda can be a little bouncy and perhaps I'll improve my game with something a bit more technically challenging. I want to EJ but just a little :) Thanks for the reply, I'll look around for something else.

baracuda and rasanter r47 are such interesting rubbers, do it all on steroids, they support a no nonsense looping game while being super stable when hitting. Far above the tenergy series I consider those 2 the best rubbers ever for the typical club player all the way to the pros. It seems like the r47 fh and baracuda bh is a great average club player equivalent of the combos high level players use, a great start. I have not tried rozena and I am not sure it is necessary given the $10 savings per rubber (when we buy several through mytt connections ) r47 and baracuda give.

My 2 R47 2.0 on a Violin are still playing strong after nearly 3 months of play; the spin is excellent, they got a bit softer; lifting underspin long serves is easier than ever; it remains my rubber of choice for a long time ahead.

Dear Mr. Yogi, Will I like R47 if I'm currently using MX-P on my FH and playing the best games of my life but I find it's power+spin degrades very quickly, within a couple of weeks and has shrinkage issues. And is it safe to assume it is not be as hard as the MX-P?
