My daughter wants to start playing. I have a Butterfly Primorac off- blade she can use. I am just not sure on rubber. Do I start out with something like sriver/Mark V ? Or maybe a tensor on really thin sponge? Something even slower? Thanks

How old is she? If she is less than 6-8 years, get her any tensor with a thinner sponge.
It is very important for children starting out to learn to reach the wood of the blade to generate pace and they don't have enough bat speed to hit through max sponge.

She is 7. Most of the kids I see playing now at the club are using rhyzm or 1.7 Tenergy.

For beginners, there is no point spending  50$ for each rubber! The kid might drop out after a few weeks . Until he/she likes to play longterm , buy cheap but good Chinese rubbers ( i.e. Reactor Corbo  costs only 13.$ US for four ! or 4 Kokutaku rubbers for the same price .  I am using these cheapo rubbers and they are very good for control !).

729 focus 3 snipe and it will still be good when she's better or higher level. Corbor reactor is a bit confusing to use

I have great experience with the Xiom Intro and after the basic stroke is there, Xiom Vega Europe. The intro is a very stable rubber, reminds me of the Karis, but slower. The Europe is just a great all around rubber.

Both in 1.8mm sponge

Do you think Clipper is appropriate blade for a child? My Clipper is oldish, thinner and slower than newer ones. Or 5 ply classic All or off- blade would be better?
P
I'm considering Clipper + Yinhe Mars 2 34 deg. for my nephew.

@BaiMile not sure about the clipper but you'd want a all around or slower blade that is consistent. Up to you though although table tennis 11 does stock great choices for beginners and above. For example the tsp lineup they have is good or similar blade category for under $70 or about €80ish

Be careful, I knew a young kid who used a Clipper and he did his shoulder. It might be a bit heavy for a kid.

We usually let the kids start out with 729fx rubbers. (Cheap and good)

I second this. Globe 999 also gets an honorable mention based on linearity and cost effectiveness. Speaking from my own experience though Flextra was my first Butterfly rubber and I absolutely adored it at the time. Got it in max thickness but I was in high school and grew out of it pretty quickly.
A version of Hurricane 3
A version of Tenergy
A Stiga blade...

At 7? Any inverted will do. Don't spend much. At that age kids don't care about rubber. Hopefully shecwill like to play. Don't get Tenergy!

Agreed about illumina. Quite nice and easy to play with. The sponge is medium soft but quite springy and very elastic despite having no factory tuning. Very well made. Sheet I tried was over 50g cut.

If weight is a concern, you might also want to consider the new gambler “competitor” (black package) rubbers: e.g. Gambler Zero. The sheets of Big Gun I tried are 51.5g uncut. The softer sponge on the Zero should make it even lighter. They are meant to be boosted so they won’t have much catapult out of the box - should be easy to control. They also go for $20 (!) a set on amazon in the us..

I agree Focus 3 (Focus III) is a great choice.
If she loses interest, you don't lose a lot of money.
If she likes TT, this rubber will be good enough to carry her to the medium level or higher.
=====
2 sheets costs $22.95.  (about $11.50 per sheet.)

Agree with Baal, don't buy Tenergy (too expensive.)
