Gold edition now?
Man. And here I am totally enjoying my regular oatmeal Battle 2, the best (commercial) hard tacky rubber ever made.... I'm also kind of happy I helped popularize it :> What's with all these special editions Edited by Lightzy - 06/01/2018 at 7:43pm |

It is a good rubber. I have no idea why zeropong stopped carrying it, but still carry Battle 1.

I'm not sure they can still get it. Plus major separation issues with every lkt rubber in the expensive price bracket

Hey, I scratched my rubber on the edge of the table today.
So I went f**kit and ordered a provincial version of the battle2 :) Can't wait to see if it's really the same but a lot better (basically like the jump from H3Neo to B2). Will definitely review it when I get it. Though I do have a hunch it won't be much different than my regular B2s. With H3Neo I would get provincial or something just to ensure the sheet wasn't defective, but with B2 I've never had a sheet less than perfect so.. Edited by Lightzy - 06/02/2018 at 7:02pm |

Also when I asked zp about it they implied it wouldn't pass a voc test or had failed some.

Me? Battle 2 right? That's what we're talking about. Someone asked why zeropong quit carrying it? Van it was.

Little slower than the H3 nat, but better in every other aspect. |

There's a popular website in china called http://www.pingpangwang.com/, I believe they got 729 to create a special edition of Battle II provincial for them. I think it's supposed to be tackier and boosted more. Edit: also interesting, the provincial player edition has a blue sponge, the golden edition has a purple sponge and the pingpangwang edition has a red sponge Edited by jk92 - 06/05/2018 at 4:47pm |

any updates? I used the BS provincial version, it came heavily boosted, for sure faster and more spin than the reg provincial, not enough time to try it in a game

Just wonder what is your rubber sheet color?
It seems that there are few versions. BTW, the reviews of www.pingpangwang.com's products are not that good, a little over price

Can't find the regular version of Battle II. I can only find the provincial.
What gives? Took me so long to find a replacement for Adidas P7, now this? BTW I love Battle II on my BH. Im producing some explosive shots with Viscaria. Even my coach was impressed! FdT

BTW yeah, with b2 on backhand you can have insane spin on backhand, but for me I prefer speed on the backhand. The wrist gives enough spin as far as I'm concerned. Still, whenever I switch just for fun it's really, really fun :)

Ya, it does; it just a taobao agent. Anyway, I highly doubt you can find a fake regular version of 729 Battle II.

Got, glued and had my first practice with the Battle 2 Pro version today (on my hurricane 301 blade)
Not enough experience and the rubber is sure as hell not broken in yet but: 1) Definitely faster 2) a bit less tacky (still tacky to the extreme though. Just not as ridiculous as the regular version) 3) higher throw, which I did not like (though it makes lifting backspin really a breeze) As for my first impression, I like it less than the regular version because of the higher throw. It requires slightly different technique and while it's easier to lift backspin, for example, its easier to block back because there's more power but less spin.
I'll try it some more next week and check in |

Lightzy can I ask you which packaging this one came in? Is it bouncier in the short game? Thanks |

It came packaged much nicer than the regular version.
It's vacuum wrapped, first of all, and there's a very nice kind of 'multi-page' cardboard wrap around the rubber. Cute design. I can't tell you yet about the short game and all that because I want to use it for at least a week before I'm definite about everything. Edited by Lightzy - 06/22/2018 at 4:26am |

Ok.
Didn't like the pro version. Used it today for a 3.5 hour session and... neh. I even lost to people I never lose to. Maybe it's that it's not 'broken in' or whatever, but the lack of control really bothered me. The regular B2 is a very precise tool that you can use for extreme spin. The B2 Pro version, to me, felt like something you can only use if you're a phenomenal player. It's higher throw, faster, a lot less controlled and less spinny. I was having trouble with my serves, it was just weird. I got a few really amazing topspins out of it when I got the ball just right but.. meh. I took it off and glued the B2 regular back on. Miracle rubber, this B2 |

I had exactly the same experience. Our league had a brief 2 week or so break before the playoffs due to some provincial/cultural holidays so of course I decided to replace my B2 with Provincial B2, in this time thinking it would be a seamless transition that by the time playoffs started I would be used to the rubber. I had exactly the same problems. It was super hard to get good spin on serves, it had less control, less tack and I couldn't chop or push underspin well. I lost all the matches I played with it and nearly got us eliminated from the semi final round. I immediately put B2 back and didn't lose a single match from then on forward. I've been on B2 ever since.

Sounds to me like you can't deal with the harder sponge. That's what happens when you switch from 45 deg to 50 or more and expect an upgrade...
