Wow China's giving Lin Gaoyuan a singles run in this? That'll be a good finals if it's FZD - LGY

i think it's both because he's the closest to Fan Zhendong in overall strength and his world ranking makes him the second seed in the singles event, so if things go according to plan , they should meet in the final

Japan did not have a single chance...that"s why they sent their best players in Olomouc. Good décision for Ishikawa for instance who would have probably got beaten if she had played in the Asian games.

China 3- Chinese Taipei 1
Republic of Korea 3- India 0
China vs Korea final is gonna be interesting
Lee Sangsu and Jeong Youngsik have struggled a bit especially Sangsu but Jang Woojin has been impressive as always.
Lin Gaoyuan and Fan Zhendong look good, who to play the third match is the big question, Wang Chuqin lost to Lin Yun Ju in the semi finals, Don't know if the team will allow him play in the finals agaist Jang Woojin, on the other hand, Liang Jingkun who's looking good, has lost both his 2 encounters against Jang Woojin- one at junior worlds, and one at Korea Open, don't know if his mentality will be stable enough and if he'll use his forehand enough.
The pivotal match will be probably the first match, Lin Gaoyuan vs Lee Sangsu, Gaoyuan is looking good, Sangsu is struggling a bit, Gaoyuan h2h with Sangsu is 1-4, if Gaoyuan wins, China should have it, cos I think Fan Zhendong will beat Jeong Youngsik, and so if Woojin wins against either Chuqin or Jingkun, then Fan Zhendong can come up and finish up the clash. But if Sangsu wins, there'll be more pressure on Fan Zhendong, it'll be incredibly difficult from there.

China up 1-0, Lin Gaoyuan free of his demons gives Lee Sangsu no chance
11-3, 11-3, 11-2
Phenomenal
On to match 2, The beast from the People's Liberation Army Team Fan Zhendong vs Jeong Youngsik, Fan Zhendong should do this...
But Wang Chuqin will be facing Jang Woojin in the third match, not sure if Chuqin will be capable, don't know why he's number 3 of the team, Liang Jingkun should play as number 3

At this rate, if he and Fan Zhendong meets in the final, it won't be like their clash at the Asian Games warm up where Zhendong just strolled through the match. it's gonna be a pretty tight match, that could go either way

China 2- Korea 0
Jeong Yongsik fights back and gives it everything but xiao pang too strong, xiao pang takes it in 4 games.
10-12, 11-8, 11-8, 11,7
Long Day for Korea, It'll take an amazing comeback to win the next three matches.
next up Wang Chuqin vs Jang Woojin
Jang Woojin is looking good, his forehand has been very imperious throughout the Games.
I don't think Wang Chuqin can beat him, Chuqin uses too much backhand, lefties that favour backhands are easy for fast and powerful righties with a big forehand.
Fan Zhendong may have to come back and finish this up.

Amazing, Good Lord was I wrong!!!ShockedEmbarrassed
The Chinese team have done it!!!!!!!!
Wang Chuqin proves he's the prodigy that we think he is, and he defeats Jang Woojin in 4 games.
13-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6
Who could have imagined this, and I was rooting for Liang Jingkun to play, brave and correct decision from the team to let Wang Chuqin play, Liang Jingkun may have been tight against Jang Woojin.
China wins 3- 0

Not an expert :-) but it’s a continental game, champion gets 1050 pts (only).
JNT traded the Asian Games for 2 Opens, where loser in the R16 gets 1080pts, and the winner 1800 pts.

Why I wanted to clarify .....

http://results.ittf.link/index.php?option=com_fabrik&view=list&listid=1&Itemid=111

On the ITTF portal, the rank  is listed as a multi-sport game ...Points in the ranking will be accrued accordingly ...Or not ?

@VladC
You’re right, 2018 Asian Games specifically classified as ‘multi-sport’. That makes it even worse, as winner only gets 600 pts!

The 2018 Asian Cup was held in April and was considered a continental tournament.  So it makes sense for the Asian Games which includes multiple sports to be be 'multi-sport'.
