Playlist of the elimination matches that Robert Gardos played at Westchester TT club. There are edited versions of the finals and semifinals elsewhere on youtube, but not of the R16 and the QF AFAIK. Edited by NextLevel - 02/25/2019 at 11:36pm |

Gardos is an amazing player for them to get at their tournament! Congrats to him and Westchester for attracting such big names to a local club tournament.

A different camera angle (and commentary) of the finals here.

Good job and CORRECT camera placement for two right-handed players. Question: how is Westchester TTC getting these international players to come? I remember seeing Andrej Gacina a few years ago and now Robert Gardos. Ok, I know it's silly because the answer is money. But it's gotta be more than the tournament winnings. Maybe a free plane ticket? An appearance fee? Paid seminar or lesson during the visit? Regardless, good job Westchester TTC!

My impression is that these are more of serendipity appearances: folks happen to be visiting New York and, hey, decent chance of taking $2K prize. Having some connections to local Slovenian, Croatian, Hungarian diaspora probably helps to bring players like Tokic, Gacina, Primorac, Pucar etc. Sometimes they did clinic (but these were not super useful IMHO), but not always. Some Westchester folks are on this forum, please correct my thinking.
