Dracula ordered a blade 🙂 I will be honest, I had no curiosity in making this shape, but I'm only here to fulfill my customers' wishes. I'm just happy to have customers that go along with my crazy ideas, so why not a coffin shaped handle to go along with the coffin shaped head? And make it extra bloody to spark fear on the opponents! Composition: Ash / Ash / Kiri / Ash / Ash Weight: 88.4g Thickness: 5.4mm Freq.: 1162Hz Balance: 2.4cm (Low) PS: I had no intention of copying Stiga, this was just a fun challenge, so if you really want a Cybershape, I suggest you buy the real thing 🙂 Edited by Hipnotic - 12/08/2021 at 4:19am |

Wow, this HAS to go into the website's gallery! I'm surprised the shape doesn't cause it to have a higher balance... Edited by Ergosquare - 12/08/2021 at 5:49pm |

The handle shape was also designed to offset the increase in balance caused by the head. So we have more volume on the bottom, as well as a heavy wood.

This one is based on a Zetro Quad, however, I used Aramid instead of Zylon since I don't work with this fiber. It's a fast blade with a soft feeling. The handle is also chunky with 24mm instead of the usual 23mm.
Available FS. Composition: Hinoki / Aramid / Ayous / Soft Carbon / Kiri / Soft Carbon / Ayous / Aramid / Hinoki Weight: 87.2g Thickness: 7.2mm Freq.: 1570 Hz Balance: 3.8cm (High) |

Carbon feel without carbon. Well, not quite, but the very hard Ebony second layer makes this blade feel as crispy as bacon. Available FS. Composition: Framiré / Ebony / Ayous / Ayous / Ayous / Ebony / Framiré Weight: 89.5g Thickness: 6.0mm Freq.: 1250 Hz Balance: 3.1cm (Med) |

One of these blades = Limba-Limba-ALC-Kiri-ALC-Limba-Limba = HL5/W968/Innerforce ALC
The other one = same forehand, but Viscaria backhand (Limba-Limba-ALC-Kiri-Limba-ALC-Koto) The second blade could be interesting for me and my game ;-)

It's experiment time again! I really like doing these thematic blades, this time I wanted to do an all Ayous blade. The plies on this one are all crossed, this sacrifices a bit of longitudinal stiffness to gain more lateral stiffness, which gives a big homogeneity to the blade. In others words, we loose some speed but gain on stability. The sweetspot is huge for a blade of this speed class, paired with a nice feeling. It would be interesting to try other ply orientations as well, to see the changes in performance, and I also think I have enough room to add a couple more layers without making the blade too heavy. Maybe next time! Composition: Ayous x11 Weight: 81.2g Thickness: 6.45mm Freq.: 1162 Hz Balance: 3.4cm (Med) Edited by Hipnotic - 01/10/2022 at 4:28am |

Any guitar players out there? Can you tell me what the inspiration was? Composition and shape were based on a Gergely, and it was made as a birthday gift 🙂 Composition: Hinoki / SC / Kiri / SC / Hinoki Weight: 89.9g Thickness: 6.65mm Freq.: 1590Hz Balance: 2.5cm (Low) |

I wonder what kind of unusual joker would want such a heavy blade?
Still, such a joker could and should buy it, because it is stunning beauty just sitting there and might actually play like the bomb. |

It strangely reminds me of that construction, one of the most beautiful handle I have ever seen: Maybe a family member? I recommend watching the pictures of the building process for the handle of that 1st blade in bh-man's Spartan series, it's mesmerizing: https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/showthread.php?25066-Blade-Makers-Challenge-SDC-Blade The latest one gives me the opportunity to ask a question: we can use heavier wood in the handle to force a low balance or insert metal in it. I would not find the practice dishonest, why would anybody? after all, Butterfly use metal tags and Borko himself told me once he played adding stuff to get the balance he wanted. I imagine by placing metal in the handle furthest away from the head we can achieve a lower balance with less weight by pushing the center of mass away but wouldn't the feel be weird? I guess the best way to find out is to superglue a coin or more in the back of the handle where the tag generally is, I never tried. |

I tried it once with a 1 ply tola blade. Initially I had put light handles, so it was very head heavy. Recently I made a little experiment, removed the handles and used some heavier ones, but inside the handle, near the bottom, I put two heavy washers. It went from a 100g, head heavy blade to a 120g with a very low balance. The feeling was weird indeed, it was noticeably heavy in the hand but I could manouver it just as easily as a 90g blade, even more maybe. There were no weird vibrations or whatever, but the power generated with small wrist movements was ridiculous.

Today I tried the SDC Dracula blade with the coffin handle. My neighbour yoyoman was kind enough to let me test it out. I was very impressed with the build quality of the blade. The blade was paired with Vega Pro max and Hurricane 3 neo. The feel was very solid without annoying vibrations. I would definitely recommend this blade to anyone who loves a high quality allwood blade.

I am one of the owners now from a Sergio SDC Cybershape blade.
I have it now a couple of days and today was the first oppertunity to train with it. It is really amazing. By far the best bat I have ever had. I am almost 64 *(next saterday) and I have been playing Ping pong as a second sport all my life. I trained a bit with a guy from our first team , and he was also amazed from the increddible good quallity of this frame. The odd shaped handle is so good and we all ( who played with it) loved it, This is his post also on this forum just above this one. Edited by yoyoman - 01/16/2022 at 11:39am |

This is Goriki's European cousin. I've been getting a few requests to make a similar blade to Nittaku Goriki, but a little lighter since they are often well over 100g. So I switched the three inner Black Walnut layers for European Sycamore Maple. These woods are very similar in terms of mechanical properties (density and hardness), but this allowed me to shave off a few grams while still keeping a slightly enlarged head size. Available FS. Composition: Black Walnut / Black Walnut / Sycamore / Sycamore / Sycamore / Black Walnut / Black Walnut Weight: 94.6g Thickness: 4.9mm Freq.: 968 Hz Balance: 3.4cm (Med) |

It isn't black at all actually, the same way Black Limba isn't really black, it's just a way to distinguish them from their regular counterparts. But Black Walnut is a different species than Walnut, I could also call it American Walnut, while the black parts in Limba happen due to a fungus in the tree. But this is the same color as the wood in your blade, it's just the lighting that makes it seem different.

Oh, I wasn't trying to be cheeky about my blade! It's de colour difference between the two black walnut outer layers in the butt of the handle - with the same layers not, or not that, different in colour in the head of the blade.
It's a beautiful blade, by the way. I think I have a thing for walnut; beautiful patterns.

Oh, the different color in the layers is normal, one layer is vertical and the other is horizontal, so they show different parts of the grain.
