JAPAN OPEN 2007: Looks like the chinese are playing in their own sponsor shirts. Ma Lin now plays Ma Long in the QF. Ovtcharov beat Joo Se Hyuk 4-3 and now plays Wang Liqin in QF. Actually I think Ovtcharov has a chance.
At the moment he is the only european younger player who can compete with the best asians.

I think Ovtcharov doesn't stand a chance against Liqin but It'll be one of the biggest upsets in his career if he lost to the kid.

And I want Ma Long to beat Ma Lin.

slaplink you got your wish. Ma Long slaughtered Ma Lin, 4-0, in fact, the third game was 11-1. Liqin is too experienced for the young German, but, he gave it his best, he had game point in the second game but couldnt close it out. Good try nontheless.......Ma Long and Ovtcharov will be the new Liqin/Boll in the next couple of years.
who no know go know

Do you think that MA Long can win against Oh Sang Eun?They played once before and at that time Oh won 4-1.Will the result be else this time?I think Wang Liqin will win the other semi-final against Wang Hao.

I made a little "Integrity" video of Wang Liqin, showing the point that he rightly handed to Wang Hao in the Semi-Final match. I added some graphics and stuff. Have a look (12MB):

Yeah ! I found it very surprising myself too ! As far as I can remember, it was the first time I heard him speak during a match apart "tchooo...and others". Also, close to the end he was laughing at something, not sure what. Looks like Ovtcharov  trying to BH flipping his short chopped serve down the line was found very entertaining by WLQ...Alltogether this has been a very unusual match.
