So I got this cleaner:

With this sponge:

My questions are very simple:

When to use them ? (before playing, after playing, both...)
How to use them ? More specifically what side of the sponge ?

I also got protection sheets...

Use before and after play,

squirt twice on 1 side of the rubber and then clean with the sponge.

uh........never used 1 of those sponges before, feel the surface and use the smoother side.

I heard that if you use this kind of cleaner, the life of your rubber will somewhat become shorter. I think the safest is to use a cloth damped with water.

zboule, I have the same cleaning products.  I liked them very much.  What I do is use them after each play, and apply a plastic paddle sheet on each side to keep it clean and fresh.( you can use anything that will cling )    Or if I have a very long playing session, I will clean in the middle, if nessesary.

aha I see !

And the chemicals don't degrade the rubber ?
Do you also use the softest side of the sponge ?

There is some controversy as to whether or not the chemicals degrade the rubber, I personally do not think they do. The yellow side is softer, so use for a slightly dirty rubber, use the blue side for very dirty rubber.

You put your nose to the nozzle and snort while pressing down on it. It really makes the balls spin.

I would repeat my previous post:
I use damp leather chamois (which I normally use to clean the car) and wipe the rubber lightly. When you damp the chamois, take care so that there is not too much water content, so the water will not drip when you wipe the rubber. After each use, rinse it with water and store it in damp condition.

I've been using Spinmax blue which claims it extends rubber life.  It does seem to work!  It is great for removing any glue that I get on the rubber surface through sloppy gluing.

Please watch the life of your rubber. If you find it easy to remove the glue remains, it could be harmful to the rubber.

Actually I find this stuff extends the rubber surface life!  It is flammable so I had my doubts too.  Used it for 8 months on a sheet of Bryce FX.  It always looked new.  The spong finally died due to regluing.
