There is this dude at my club that plays chinese penhold, and he uses short pips on one side( butterfly challenger) and long pips on the other side( butterfly feint long 3) and during the middle of a rally, he will alternate between both sides, short pips for attacking, and long pips for mixed attacking and defense. i always screw up while playing him, and he makes me look like a fool, i may put a vid of me playing him. but is there any advice you have on beating him, good strategies against his style, thanks

Don't feel bad.  We all have been there in one way or another.  Once you figure out how to play long pips, you will have a lot more fun playing against them.  I will give you 2 tips, and you need to try this first.

1.  Use fast (dead ball) serves to your opponent backhand.  Also, use slow deep open (attack) to the backhand.

2.  Stay away from pushing short balls on the backhand.

Try these 2 first, then will see...

Make him open up the table by working the angles on his BH then attack the opening. If he's really quick "push" him around and attack on the loose balls. if he's a chopper, loop the crap out of him Tongue
