(PATT Notes is a periodic table tennis discussion from The PATT Institute (www.ThePATTInstitute.com))Salaried CoachesThe finest coaches in the world, those that contribute to the development of the best players and the best teams, are salaried. For those interested in maximizing the improvement in players, this compensation method affords many opportunities. Among them is the capability of designing training programs that are attentive to the very specific needs of the individual player, needs the satisfaction of which require coaching time and effort not available to coaches compensated by other means. If a national table tennis system desires to improve its competitiveness with other countries via the development of international-level players, its approach needs to include salaried coaches functioning in a setting that supports the full application of their capabilities. |
