Quentin Robinot defeating Ma Lin.
========================

Ma Lin is going down the hill, he lost to a player came from the Qualification Group.
Further more, Quentin Robinot didn't even do well in his Qualification Group.

3 players in the Group 12, Quentin Robinot was 2nd (lost to DESAI but beat GUMAN).

*** No chance for Ma Lin to go to London in 2012. IMO. ***

Group 12                             Details of group 12
12  ROBINOT Quentin  FRA    3-4 4-2
 DESAI Harmeet  IND    4-3 4-0
 GUMAN Martin  SVK    2-4 0-4 3

Ma Lin didn't deal well with robinot service. i didn't see ma lin playing poorly. imo he had a bad day.
in 1997 liu guoliang had a bad day with karakasevic in the wttc. he didn't deal with karakasevic's game well that day. liu lost in the first rounds in 1997 wttc. in 1999 wttc liu is world singles tt champion.
tt is a very technical game. a little difference or difficult ball drives to a hard result.

btwy, robinot playing a boll forte shows that there is no need to worry so much about equipment.

Considering that Ma Lin is from the era of hidden serves, I think there's less excuses for him on having bad returns.

the more ignorant is someone the more demanding is about others.
in 1997 karakasevic played lot worse than robinot against liu and won. for sure you would say there is no excuses. but l.gl. was wttchampion in 1999.

the world does not end because losing one match.

My comment only referred to the previous comment on returning serves and that there was less of an excuse. Not no excuse. Personally, I think players who are from that era (hidden serves, 21-point game, speed gluing, etc.) should be able to read serves a lot better than the much younger generation.

As for Karakasevic vs. LGL, I have no information on that match other than who won so I'm not going to comment on that.
