So there's an old post of mine where someone mention the availability of excellent coaches are limited in USA. So I came up with an idea to create a search engine for table tennis coach nation wide. I self learn some php, css, html and java and created my own website. Originally this website is to advertise myself, but I see a bigger possibility with it. (Please finish reading before visiting the website.) http://www.bayarea-tabletennis.com/ You will have to go to google and type "http://www.bayarea-tabletennis.com/" with the quotes in order to view my page. Functions: I will be adding a "find your coaches" tab. When the user click into it, the user will be prompt to type their zip code, and miles they are willing to drive to find the coach. After they input that info, my website will do a search in the data base and coach info will pop up: such as the availability of the coach (see my calendar tab, as I show how to link google calender to webpage) via linkage of google calendar, price, location, qualification and etc.... Why I want to do that as coach can join the local club instead? 1) well that is because there's a lot of open table recreation building out there that don't put high overlaying cost. 2) a lot of capable coaches weren't aware there's a market for them. I have a friend in Berkeley, she's in national team B in china, got into Beijing uni and studying law in here. She can definitely do coaching part time. However, she doesn't how to market herself other than traveling 20+miles without a car to go to their local club. I will have this website info and let potential coach register in my website in the chinese forum. As you can see website only have myself to advertise. (no one is going to type "www.bayarea-tabletennis.com") I would like to have some input from table tennis enthusiast like you guys. Like what more functions I can put into my website? is it a good idea? Any suggestions will be great, before I put over 20 hrs to code the functions I describe above. Thanks!
