It would be wonderful to know why he needs this custom blade instead of the standard Primorac Carbon in ST handle? This is the dream question I'd personally love to ask him some day. You said the PC is just about the same in head size and thickness, then why does he need a custom blade? Is the inner layer different from the PC? or is the Legout/Kreanga handle absolutely perfect for his hand size?...
Too many questions, too many assumptions and too few answers.

The handle is waaaay different. It is tiny for his tiny hands.as I have 4 primos carbon all in different years, from the first series till the last with ther bl;ack tag, none of them play as the 4 blades of Kreanga's I have. ALSO the 3 which are the same (hinoki, tamca 5000, kiri) they play differently between them. Different spion, different speed, different feeling and different arc in spin. The 4th is from the late 80's which he obdained from the national roumanian team that butterfly has made custom blades for all the national players (I thin k one forum member has mentioned that buttterfly has made once custom blades for the romanian national team).
As I know from a very very close friend of him who used to play in young men's national team in Greece, Butterfly used to send to Kreanga some blades that he could try them and finally keep the ones that he likes.

Yes Kreanga has used Cresail blade at the early years when he became Greek citizen. BUT I think that the blade was different from cresail. I have heard a story inside the Greek nmational team about this blade that I have and also I asked (in personal conversation) the other Greek-Romanian Daniel Tsioka about this blade and told me that belonged to Kreanga. The blade is combination blade which has middle ply, 2 carbon layers after that, then 2 outer plies(not hinoki) and at the one side of the blade, has second wooden ply. And I've been told that this was Kreanga's combination blade that he wanted an off++ side for his backhand. The handle has a woddy color(brown), no label at all, and only the black tag butterfly logo at the bottom.

I dont see much interest for the blade, unfortunately. I can understand why...
Anyway I had some good offers, but I think they are not good enough if we consider the prices that other rare commercial blades have when they are on sale. I will be waiting till this weekend, and if no one will show any interest, I will keep it for myself, and who knows, maybe I iwll put it on sale some other time in the future.

I think part of the problem is that you offer 0 proof that this is actually Kreangas blade beside you stating that it is. Just something to think about when you ask for $1500. I'm not implying that you are not telling the truth, simply pointing as to why there might be low interest.

I dont know what would be a good proof that it is Kreangas blade. For example how could I have these handle cups and then put them on a commercial primorac carbon? And then how could I have erase the letters of the font of the head and still the blade keep on looking untouched?
A good proof would be a signature of him, but when I got it, the player was not there. I know it is a dissadvantage, thats why the other blades of him that I keep, they have signature. Lets hope that if I keep it finally, I will be able to meet him and sign it sometime. Till then, I will let you wondering if it is genuine or fake, OR if it is his personal blade or I made it. And you didnt mention on something I have written...that if I get a good offer I will sell it, it doesnt have to be 1.500 euros at the end. Till now I have offer more that 1/3 of the price I have already put, but i still think it is not enough.

I have no more offers and interests for this blade, so I close the thread!!!
Many thanks to Antuan who informed me about the rules and to Sabito, kakapo and proSpin for their support to me against some people who they only want to say bad things and think that they are the only good ones on earth. I also thank every guy who made offer to me about their interest. The price that the blade was really high, but not enough about this blade (always in my personal opinion). I will keep the blade and maybe in the near future it will be on sale again, who knows... Thank you guys...

Very wise decision! If you don't need money urgent then keep that blade for a better time.
But you must note in the future mostly players from Greece will ask for Kreanga's paddle, because he was never so much famous as Timo Boll or Primorac or Schlager or another BTY sponsored player. That could be a knife with two sharp edges, depending who and how much is able to pay for such a blade! Specially for me this is unique item and must be priced well, but for a pity not so many people/players are able to pay "the price" right now. In my honest opinion I think you must ask Kalin to sign the blade and you must collect which competitions he has played with this blade and his results. That will be more attractive than thousands of words. About the haters - don't worry. Each product has its own buyer. For my 23 years in the sport I have often seen people with money for Lada (I have nothing versus russian cars) are going to buy Porsche and when they see your arguments for the price of your Porsche they just are starting to tell you non correct things. Don't worry! I am selling my collection more than 5 years already and some people tried in the past to convict me something they are too far from the truth, for example - especially about the prices. Yes, some blades gone cheap, because the game was changed too much, but when something doesn't works well, then you must think which one will works in today's circumstances. Don't hear what people say, but think what you will be satisfied to have for your items. You have my support as this blade is really unique and I believe it was personal weapon of Kalin. Minimum 1000 EUR, but you must wait the correct buyer. Could be today, could be tomorrow, could be next year, you never know. |
