Hi everyone, I'm going to buy a sheet of joola energy (with "green power" ). I also have a sheet of andro revolution C.O.R. I'm going to put these two rubbers on a donic waldner dicon. Should I treat these two rubbers with EEII before I put them on the blade? I know that they both have built in glue effect, but I figure that it would be an even better effect if I used EEII. Do you think it would affect the playing characteristics of the rubber negatively? thanks |

I would imagine that you would find it virtually impossible to stick it to the blade with EEII. Although I haven't tried so don't take my comment as gospel.

I haven't tried using EEII with glue-effect/tensor rubbers myself. The reason is the EEII expands the sponge, thus softening it and stretching the topsheet, which is exactly what glue-effect rubbers are supposed to have already done. I have however tried a layer of long-lasting speedglue on a soft sponge tensor (Joola Tango Ultra) and that seemed to increase the effect. I know other people who speedglue their tensor rubber, so it's possible to increase the effect. So if you do try it, you might limit it to one coat of EEII so you don't overdo it. -- Andrew

if you overdo the EE, you can get uneven stretching. with a tensor rubber, or anything that's been reverse tensioned, you risk the topsheet ripping from the sponge and/or cracking.
my andro 380 topsheet edges cracked easily and fell off, after 1 light coat of speedglue and 1 table contact. |

The Andro COR should be helped by the EE II as I used to speedglue mine and found it to the fastest and a very spinny rubber. I hope you got the 2.0 as the Max was heavy. I have not used the Joola Energy.

Use EEII only on rubbers without built-in glue effect, and only when you have to. Like D4VOW said, a few coats of EEII will make it very difficult to stick some jap sponged rubbers onto the blade. If you're going to use EEII, don't waste your money on tensor rubbers.
