has anyone played with this blade? A guy at our club plays with it with Hammond pro alfa max on both sides it just looks like he has a frying pan in his hand when you play him so I was thinking how the heck does he play with it? I thought it must weigh a ton but the other night I asked to hold it and could not belive how light it felt. I didn't play this blade before. This blade is made by balsa (light wood). The thickness is incredible huge. TSP announced several carbon blades are made by balsa wood. I believe the balsa blade will become more popular next few year. I had played the 1 ply. Hinoki wood blade (10mm, Shakehand), but it is not good at serving. Although the weight of this blade is pretty light, but I don't this blade is good for the serve or not. |

It says "thickness 10.7 mm" I'm currently using a similar blade from Dr N. The max size is great for returning a higher % of balls, and the super light weight allows for the use of heavier rubbers. You can get used to the thicker blade (Joola Kool is almost as thick). The only down side is it's not as good for slipping under the ball & scooping it, if you are late getting to a tiny drop shot before the second bounce. |
