My nephew is 14 years old.
He has been playing with his friends in his neighbourhood. He is using hardbat racket from sporting goods store. He wants to know whether he should stick with it or buy a professional hardbat racket to get more topspin. Someone also suggested that he should use sandpaper rackets as it will get more topspin. I was surprised to hear that there are tournaments exclusively for hardbat and sandpaper players. He is interested in playing in these tournaments. Where can I find more information on this. He wants to start training at these clubs also and actually try out varioous professional hardbat or sandpaper bats to make a decision for future. By the way he puts lot of topspin on the ball and he wants to decide whether to continue with hardbat or move up to sandpapaer for more topspin Any help appreciated

Hardbat is better for spin. Sandpaper is seldom played.
Facebook has a Hardbat group.

A hardbat is legal for all tournaments. Sandpaper is only used v other Sandpaper, normally. It tears up the balls too
