Already tried that it doesn't work. Should I try a drop of solvent on it(turpetilene or thinner or something)? Does that work ?

Spinmax cleaner takes it right off.  Also extends the life of the rubber!

Oh drat, you beat me to it. Not the bit about extending the life though (unless you are prepared to continue the use).

If your using Chinese sticky rubber and have contaminated the main hitting area of the rubber, use Spinmax.   Sticky rubber doesn't let glue rub off the surface.

If your using Chinese sticky rubber and the glue area is not too big, either
use it as is or just use a swab with spin max on the affected area.  Its best to avoid using Spinmax on new sticky rubber since it does degrade the sticky surface.

If your using Japanese or Euro non-sticky rubber, rub it off with your finger.

I use to rub it off with my fingers. But you need to get glue wet agian inside and outside. so you got to put another layer of speed glue wait for like 30 seconds then start rubbing.

I think your talking about removing glue from the sponge - not glue that you've accidentally gotten onto the hitting surface of the top sheet.

Is that why I see some people with lighter fluid at the TT club?  What else do they use it for?

Soften the sponge, add control, less power.
