Is it really impossible to make VOC-free speed glue? I know that table tennis companies are making rubber with built-in gue effect but i dont think that thats really the same. I cant imagine watching the pros play when the ban takes effect since they can already return balls that move at great speed, what more balls that move slower. The speed glue effect is part of the game's appeal because it makes it look amazing ...So, any chemists out there that can help me out? o.o |

Stiga has advertised a new VOC-free speed glue that works in combination with new specialized Stiga rubbers.
Belgium company Berenger who produces most of today's speed glues has developed a new VOC-free speed glue called Falco or something. They say that it has a long lasting speed glue effect. I hear it looks like yoghurt, but it actually works. You can buy it already in Germany. |

For those who can read Chinese......
从国际乒联公布的胶水批准表上看,已知通过检测的有: -红双喜Aqua Glue(近期《乒乓世界》上有广告,50毫升装大陆统一售价58元含邮费,热线电话+86-21-64382882) -Juic Aqua Effekt -Juic Aqua Stick(固体胶棒,《乒乓世界》2006年第11期第101页有介绍,结合Juic Ecolo Expander——一种“菜油膨胀剂”使用) -蝴蝶Water Chack(同样经《乒乓世界》上述文章介绍,结合Juic Ecolo Expander——一种“菜油膨胀剂”使用) 由于器材委员会的报告说的是“四家厂商”,而不是“四种产品”,因此还应有一款笔者尚未发现的获准产品。 至于没有通过检测的三家,笔者怀疑(仅仅怀疑,未经确认)是: -Joola Aqua(同样经《乒乓世界》上述文章介绍,然而不在国际乒联现有批准表之列) -TSP Water Glue(近期《乒乓世界》上有广告,然而也不在批准表中) -Nittaku(近期《乒乓世界》上有其套胶广告,称为“水溶性胶水时代的‘宠爱’”,暗示同品牌已有水溶性,然而批准表上同样榜上无名) 如此看来,在“无机胶水”这个领域近期应该还会有不少新闻冒出来吧? |

that is the date when testing will take place. As for now, the glues are banned. Which means you cant be seen applying glue to your rubber and blade in the competition hall. You can do it secretly elsewhere, else someone can just take a photo of you applying glue and get you disqualified immediately.

they'll be using ENEZ - a boxlike device that detects VOCs. It doesnt matter if you secretly put speed glue on your paddle anywhere. If it detects it, you'll be disqualified. But i think your paddle would be legal even if you put glues containing VOCs as long as they have fully evaporated away so ENEZ wont detect it anymore.
