I am planning to have my furniture craftsman make me a TT table with mahogany top surface.
I plan to seal the surface with Hudson polyurethane wood varnish to protect the wood.
I am thinking of using the table for playing TT as well as a general purpose table for other home activity as in dining and in serving guests.
I thought of using mahogany or some other hardwood like molave wood to make it more durable in the long run.

My question is, will this hardwood surface affect the bounce of the ball and overall play of the game?

I heard that in outdoor parks in China they use concrete TT table surface which is even harder.

Blade: Rosewood NCT V
FH: Dignics 05 Black
BH: Moristo SP Red

It's not so much the hardness I'd be worried about as the slickness of your finish
