Hello there!

I'm getting back into table tennis after a hiatus. I played a few tournaments way back in the day, but I was never a high-level player. My wife and I got a ping pong table for the house and my office got one as well, so I'm looking to beat up on coworkers and friends. I'm primarily a tennis player, but with 5-month-old twin boys, getting out to play tennis is a much more time-consuming and difficult task than hopping on the ping pong table. Plus, I love the technical side of the game. It's much more nuanced than tennis.

In addition to getting caught up on the game itself, I'm joining the forum so I can get some advice on my setup. I'm using a 7-year-old Stiga Carbo 7.6 WRB with Mach V 1.5 rubbers on both sides, and I don't think the rubbers in particular actually fit my game (either that or they're just old and they've lost their spin). So I'm planning to create a separate post detailing my play style and asking for some advice there.

Thanks for (hopefully) approving my posting rights!

I would like to make a point concerning the inferior plastic ball. This ball was forced upon us but it is about 50% more expensive does not give a perfect bounce and breaks very quickly. There is no guarantee how long the ball will last before it cracks and over the year we have to continue to buy new plastic balls and are out of pocket. The celluloid ball was the best for the sport and was in play with no problems for about 100 years. Would be pleased to hear your response , thank you

I did post here before, but maybe no one liked my setup XD. I replied to a thread in the main forum, but now I can't post there anymore so I guess I'm still a pre-member.

I'll post my setup again just for kicks:

I just got reverted to a pre-member for some reason too. I can't reply to the threads I was in a few days ago! In any case, here's my setup (updated thanks to suggestions from this site):

Stiga Carbo WRB 7.6
999 Super 999T on forehand and backhand

I'm primarily a looper. More spin than power.

Hello!

No setup here for the moment. We got a table at work and I now play each day since 1 year with crappy racket. I'd like to buy some custom made racket from colestt.

I was looking at Air Matrix + Illumina 1.9 41 deg.

I fear though that it might be too offensive for my level.

Thanks for any suggestions.
