Newbie here - am I in the right place?

   I just registered for this forum today.  I'm nearly 70 years old and haven't played since I was a teenager and that would have been with old fashioned equipment.   So I'm starting pretty much from scratch except I need to unlearn bad habits (or use them to confuse my opponent) and start learning some proper technique. 
Is this a good place for a beginner like me or would you recommend somewhere else? 

I just bought a 25mm table - it's only a Joola but seems pretty decent quality to me - certainly better than the sheet of plywood on sawhorses we had growing up.   And I got a Newgy 2055 robot to practice with until I meet some local players that are at a low enough level enough to be willing to play me and hopefully at a high enough level I can learn something.  I also ordered a  Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive blade with Mark V rubbers and it should get here early next week.

Anyway ... that's my story :)
