You shaved the blade a lot ! I have one question though : when you hold the blade do your thumb and forefinger touch the rubber ? I used to add a bit more cork sheet so the distance is more or less 25 mm. This is to avoid my fingers from touching the rubber.

I didn't realize Galaxy made a 1 ply hinoki wood blade.  How much is the Jpen and does Galaxy make a 1 ply hinoki shakehand?

I have 3. The two best I am asking $45.  On one of them the grains run at an angle of about 70 degrees as opposed to 90.  They're straight, just at an angle.  I'm only going to ask $30 for that one.

They're not especially light at 105-108g.  But that's how all the one ply's I've ever gotton are in any brand.  They look to be 9mm.

Wow....that's pretty heavy!  I don't suppose there's any chance Galaxy makes a shakehand version and is sub 90 grams?

Looks like this is the Kinda Jpen which is extremely affordable, abusable, whackable, dingable n u-can-do-whatever-u-wanna-do-to-it n wouldn't feel sorry for/abt it. It's just too bad this doesn't come in at around 90s grams.
I had not noticed that Cole has somethings like this 1 all along!

Mines 165 from the tip of handle, 135 across.  Maybe that's part of the weight difference?  Is yours smaller than most do you think?

My Kokutaku:
Total : 254 mm.
From the end of the handle : 164 mm
Width : 134 mm.

Both my Kokutaku (10 mm) and my Nittaku (9mm) has the same weight : 80 grams.
I think the weight has something to do with the wood quality also, and not only dependant on the size.

It seems like the galaxy may be a bit longer than some, explaining at least a couple grams of the weight.

Looks like it's an Armstrong Castilian Style.  1-ply and heavy.  I have one that's almost 100g.

You must have gotten the Asian market edition or something like that.  Usually the collectors like the back that is unpainted (actually without the paintsheet), so they can enjoy viewing wood grains on both sides.  A while ago they also produced this way and the box comes with two paintsheets (one black and one red), so you can decide which color to have.
