Where would you recommend to contact the ball for a loop against back spin, no spin, top spin etc?

For me, I use a Forehand grip - I like the contact point to be in front of me. But most of the time I'm late and it becomes very close to me or to the side of me.

I believe it would be very grip dependant.

Would that not give you lots of sidespin?

No, I'm trying to hit the center of the ball in front of me. As I mentioned, I have an extreme grip - so I'm trying to make contact with the ball with flat racquet. I control the ball with the upward movement of my racquet - underspin - lot more upward movement, top spin - very little upward movement.

there a few different methods (firstly I never really think where I strike the ball) and I've played for decades
One way is a whole body approach get your bat back bend your knees right leg back and and at the same time meet the ball before it has dropped too far and drive with top spin forward at the same time shifting your weight forward and bring your back leg up to be square with your other leg (power loop)
another method could be aiming longish and with a vertical blade and go up (lazy persons flick)

oops that's against backspin (you are wanting 4 different answers to all your questions

I think blade angle, practice, game experience, adjusting against different players are all more important
