Hello everybody.
This is my first post here although I've been reading this forum for a long time.

I bought Stiga Infinity VPS V + free blade lacquering from tabletennis11.com.
It was delivered quickly and weight of the blade was as specified so I am satisfied with their service but I am not sure if the blade is sealed cause it looks to me as normal non-sealed new blade.
Maybe they forgot to lacquer it?

I've had some bad experience with splintering with my other blades and Infinity is very fragile but on the other hand I am afraid if I seal it with hairspray and it was already lacquered that it will change its playing characteristics too much.
Donic WBG will be used.

So how to check if it is lacquered?
I can post pics if needed.

Thanks.

When I seal a blade, you can't tell.  I go real light...if you have visible buildup you've put way too much on.

Thanks cole_ely.
I didn't know that. I was expecting some visible traces.
Then I guess I m going to glue the rubbers and hope for the best.

Sometimes, the head becomes a little bit darker, every sealing has also its own smell and eventually, you can feel a difference when touching it if you compare with a non sealed one.

Both of my blades were sealed by the places I bought them (megaspin and TT11). If I hold them at the right angle against the light, I can see where the sealer stopped just below the to of the handle. It's just a little more glossy.

Being able to see this might depend on the type of wood the top ply is made of too.

I lacquered the edge only and glued the rubbers.
Thx to everyone.

Hey dajdosta!

Thanks for being our customer!

I asked our CEO Sergei to comment this and he said:
"The layer of lacquer is really very thin and goes into the wood.
It is easier to feel it by touch than by the eye. Please send the photos to [email protected], we will try to check it.
We have double check procedure for lacquering in our company, so it should not be any problem."

Hello Annes Alex,

thank you for taking your time to help me.
I didn't have previous experience with blade lacquering so that's the reason I was asking here.
Now I know it was lacquered.
Anyway I already glued the rubbers.
Thanks again.
