Actually each Tenergy has it's characteristic, there is no "the best" Tenergy, it's all depends on your style your preference.

For me, I like Tenergy 05 the best because of it's massive spin and power.

This poll is not correct.
OP should have allowed each  poster to have 2 choices, as some players use a different Tenergy on FH and BH.

I think 64 and 05 are "the better" ones out of the Series.and I voted for 64 just because it has the lower arc and I feel like it's easier to counter loop at the table.I don't think there are much spin differences.

I preferred tenergy when it was new and £36. Now you noobs are involved it's £50 and not so interesting. #tenergyhipster

I can't see that option in the poll, so I'll gracefully abstain.

Well, I can see why that would make sense, but I am asking for the absolute favorite. For example, if you have 05 on your forehand, and 80 on your backhand, and you had to replace one with the other,
80--->05 or 05--->80, which would you rather have and why?

I'd like to put in a 2nd vote for 80.

But 05 is simply awesome. If there's a problem, it's at the other end of the handle...

In that case, T05Smile.
It's like the TBS blade. It doesn't excel at anything in comparison with other blades, it just does everything well.

Oh yes I agree with you there, I have the FX version which IMO makes chopping a bit easier, but I have used both and agree 100% that it does everything well Big smile

Nothing quite like 05 on an ALC blade.

05, although 64 has the best speed glue effect.

Interesting, 05 seems to be the most popular so far, we'll see if 05 keeps up the lead.

I think it would be a completely different result if timo boll played any other tenergy.

There is 05 and there is all the rest. If you don't play 05 go for donic xiom Adidas dhs ..... There is lot of rubbers similar to others tenegies or better but 05 is one of a kind and after 10 years it is still the best by far.

That's really odd, almost half of my opponents have a tenergy of either 80 or 05

T64 is most popular, 05FX is next, T80 gains popularity, but I know that in my club(120 members) I am the only one who uses T05(generously boosted)

IMO tenergy 80 fx pro version is by far superior to any other tenergy.

I've tried 05, 25, and last 80.  I've also hit with 64, 05 FX,  64 FX, and 80 FX.   Haven't seen a sheet of 25 FX.

If I had to choose to play with one of these it would be Tenergy 80.  Seems to have the advantages of 05 and 64 without the disadvantages of either.  Plenty of spin, a little lower throw than 05, and a better short game.  At least for me.

Not that I'm planning on changing or anything.  I still like the Bluefire M2 better, but if I were choosing one of these to play with, I'd go with Tenergy 80, with 05 in second place.

Tenergy 05 was the first rubber in tenergy series therefore all the testing tuning and tweaks were done with 05. Everything else is simply born from tenergy 05 by modifying its structure (ex: different pip width, shape, length, softer sponge etc) all the other rubbers have barely any testing done to them-for sure not 10 years like 05.
Also when you play with 05 you can play any shot other Tenergies play, and it offers best of them all,,, If you combine characteristics of all other tenergies the result is simply 05

I've settled with T80 for a long time. I use it in 1.9, and always have. 2.1 tenergy is just too much for anything I'll ever need to do on the backhand.

I think a bit of it is blade matchup though. A lot of those carbon blades will mix well with any of the tenergy sheets, but when I've played 5-ply wood, I have not enjoyed using t80 at all. When I played rosewood for a while, and when I have more recently been playing violin- I just don't like it on those types of blades. I think t64 would be a better match. But I haven't played 64 in years.

Using plastic ball , T05 is the only non-Chinese rubber that has decent spin on serves .

I also disagree Stavros, T05 is not the only rubber that gets spin off of serves with a plastic ball, a whole bunch of rubbers work great, so unless you have tried every single rubber known to mankind, you can't say tenergy is the only one for spinny serves with a plastic ball

yeah I think so too. You can still get good spin out of most rubbers, even with the plastic balls. If you don't, the problem is not the rubber, it's the technique.

Of course I haven't tried all the available rubbers! I tried many but can you mention a similar to T05 rubber? I spend my money trying to find a cheaper alternative and then I return back to T05.

Most people I have spoken to seem to be more satisfied with Donic Barracuda for Spinny serves because they say it works beautiful for the plastic ball

Lots of rubbers get better grip on the  plastic ball for serves from ESN.  Whether you prefer them or like their sponge is personal.  But I get more spin on serves from MX-S than T05.
