Hi, I'm a regular user of H3 Neo and would like to try a booster. I currently glue my rubber with speed glue as i find it easier to apply rather than the haifu dolphin water based glue i also have. For some reason the haifu water based glue dries with lumps. Has anyone used speed glue to stick boosted rubber to their blade and it turned out ok, or is it a big no no?

I don't think you should do that lol

But I've never tried. If you're gonna do that, maybe boost less with Kailin? because the speed glue is gonna expand the sponge too

Tats,

I've used Falco Long booster on top of several rubbers that were glued with rubber cement. I've had no issues.

In fact I did it to a sheet of TG3neo that I had glued with rubber cement prior. No problem.

And it played great by the way!

Hi,
Did you remove the old rubber cement layer before apply the Falco Long booster?
thx

no definitely not... that would probably be a disaster in ruining the sponge

also if you mixed in water based glue you could really end up with an impenetrable slime

More and more people are boosting with the coming of winter.
Come to the dark side my friends >:D

I was under the impression that the 38 39 and 40 deg dhs sponges should be able to take at least two thin layers of falco tempo long.
I guess I will have to put on a layer of tearmender and layer it with falco.

If I remember correctly, I did a layer of tearmender and then two layers of Falco Long on this sheet of H3 I'm playing with. Also, when I glue to the blade, I still use rubber cement on both rubber and blade.

It plays swimmingly Smile

You were very much one who considered people who used boosters cheaters, even though you acknowledged it was in part driven by the terrain.  You didn't use them and now they are in your signature (gasp!)

I think you have me confused with someone else; perhaps Tassie?

I've been arguing that the rule is a scam for a long time.

I spread tear mender with a plastic card. Should i spread it with a sponge to get an even thinner coat ?

asifgunz,

I use a little sponge to spread tear mender. I don't think I've tried a card so I couldn't compare.

But, I don't water down tear mender and regardless, I have no issues. Nice and flat.

NextLevel must have had hell of a weekend lmaoo.

I joke, I joke.

Mr. Theo, my tearmender dries fast. I mean in one and a half minutes as soon as I put it on the sponge. Have you had similar experience?

With my medical condition, such weekends are no longer possible so I don't have that excuse. Must be an early onset of something related that isn't good either. But at this point, life is good. Enjoy youth - it's not reversible.

Yes, i previously used Haifu Speed Glue for a while and have recently switched back to Donic Vario WBG. You can use speed glue with Kailin or Seamoon booster with no issues. You just have to be careful of over expansion. Tensing the H3 too much will quickly shorten the lifespan of the rubber. If you think your Haifu is too thick, just thin it out...remember it is WATER based glue. I dont like thick WBG glue either because of its gooey thickness...so i try to use the thinnest brand as possible. 2 cents added.

No, I haven't. Perhaps your bottle was old or something? I remember someone writing that it's good to shake a bottle to listen for .... loose viscosity I guess you might say.

Its still liquid as I pour it on the sponge. But the liquid dries fast when exposed to air per se.

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying speed glue and rubber cement are very similar? Is that because they both contain volatile/inflammable chemicals? I'd be very interested to know how speed glue differs from normal rubber cement if you know.
