Hi all, I have two Xiom Zetro Quad blades. One of them feels super crip and awesome, the other one sort of feels like a brick. Why is that?

Inconsistency in the quality of wood? It makes a difference when and where the plies come from, especially because this blade has so many layers. I really liked this blade when I got to try a friend's!

thats why you have technology to measure stiffness and weight

So how exactly do you measure stiffness in particular at home?

It doesn't matter. Keep the heavier one, discard the other one.
use the one you picked forever.

This is very common across many companies. I remember owning a Stiga Ebenholz V that I got in a 79 gms range from TT11 and it turned out to be a piece of crap. I had bought the Ebenholz only because a friend of mine had a really nice one at about the same weight range (which was interesting) and it played completely differently than mine. I got rid of it. Smile

the manufacturer must measure the stiffness so the blades can be close in terms of playability

I have had that experience with pretty high end blades like Viscaria.  So when you find one you like, keep it forever and never change.

The idea for the second one was to have a second blade for trying out new rubber and to simply have a back up.

I know. One reason I have had so many Viscaias was trying to find a second one as good as my favorite one. I spent a lot on blades I dont use. But I did eventually succeed.

What you measure is a stiffness index, which to some extent correlates with speed.
