Just got this in. It's the non Senso version. Weight is 90g if I didn't know any better I would say DHS is making this blade..... other blade is Innerforce ALC. Frequency testing puts it in the off- category .

No.1 Donic Ovtcharov looks like Butterfly Inerforce ALC while No.1 Donic Ovtcharov senso looks like Butterfly Inerforce ZLC. But how they play? Glad to read some review soon on MYTT.

Never tried the Fang Bo but have had a couple Hurricane Long V blades . It seems identical quality and similar appearance. That's why I was thinking DHS or whoever makes the HL5 is making these blades.

Donic say Dima uses Ovtcharov no.1 senso but who knows, hope we will soon see fresh pictures of his racquet in Pro equipment thread.

I will check out the box when I get home and see if it has a label where it was made.

Donic retailer in Brazil told me it's made in China.

Typically the German companies will state made in Germany if the product is. I didn't see anything but will check it out better when I get home. Like I said earlier this looks like a DHS blade. I based that by the color of composite used, the light fraying of the composite material(poor finish compared to Bfly) ,the way the logo is etched on the back of the handle and the double taper of the flare handle (thicker at the rear Width & Height)

jpenmaster, how thick is the handle relative to the HL5 or the Fang Bo Carbon?

I will try and compare them this weekend. It appears to be the same to me. Thin in the middle. There is no made in.... sticker anywhere on the packaging or blade.

I make screenshots from last match with Samsonov. Handle its senso type, but not from No.1 blade.

Have been trying out the Ovtcharov Senso No1.
Clearly a DHS Hurricane Long V (HL5) variant. 2nd ply seems ayous (like the HL5) and not limba (like the IF-Layer ALC)
IMHO, the difference between this blade and the current HL5 is that this blade is longer. That is a good thing
From my limited experience, Fang Bo Carbon is softer (and a bit less mushier / less solid) than the HL5. This blade is atleast as solid as the HL5 (ie: not like the FB Carbon). So far, I have had 3 FB Carbon blades and about 5 HL5 blades.
I do see Ma Long giving some custom blades to Ovtcharov .
So, perhaps, Ovtcharov was modifying the W968 he got from ML for his play purposes?
However, (and I hope that someone can corroborate this), the blade DO seems to be using in the picture someone else posted above this post does not seem to have the same shape as the Ovtcharov No1. It is rounder / more conventional shaped whereas this blade is more elongated. Personally, I don't think that DO uses the Donic Ovtcharov No.1 Senso (which is same as this blade but with modified handle).

I don't know how many variants will Donic produce in the future. Last time I tried Dima Original Senso Carbon, only to find out later on Donic produces Dima True Carbon. And now the No. 1 Senso and Non-Senso??

Just bought the Ovtcharov n1 senso. It’s less stiff than Timo Boll alc and you can feel better the ball, also a bit slower so you can control the ball better, you will never miss a shot or make unforced errors like with Timo alc (that is one of the best blades around). the weight is more on the head but it’s easy to use, you can put more power on the ball, and it really makes the difference for the forehand with poly balls.I ’ll definitely switch from Timo alc to this new Donic Blade

I had a chance to test this blade myself last week. A friend got it from TT11. The blade is great craftsmanship (definitely on par with butterfly). It is fantastic blade, 5 players during practice had a chance to hit with it including myself and we all really really liked it. The feeling of the ball on this blade is superior, despite carbon it feel like you are playing with wood on slower shots and then on harder you can feel the carbon engage. It also produces I would say above average sound. Spin was what all the players agreed upon Very Strong, I would say one of the spinnest carbon blades I tried. It felt speed wise similar to ALC blades, but seems like it has more control better spin and the feeling you get is like no other blade... It is a bit expensive in my opinion but if you can get a good deal on it and find one for 140$ I think it is definitely a great blade to try. My friend had Tenergy 80 & xiom vega japan and both seemed to fit this blade.

I hope to read the review of the Donic Ovtcharov No. 1 blade and the difference between the senso and the non-senso ones.
