Okay, I now have 3 different blades for sale/trade!
I have a used Nittaku KVU flared I want to sell or exchange. I bought it in Japan about 7 months ago, when I switched from penhold to shake. It's a defensive blade, but I have now moved onto something faster. It comes with an old sheet of Nittaku DHS Hurricane II 1.5mm and Yasaka Mark V 30 1.5mm.
About the KVU:
It retails for about US$65 both in Japan and in the US. It has a large blade head: 168mm x 156mm. The handle is 102mm x 25mm, and is Supercore (has a sponge inside). It is a 7-ply blade: 5-ply wood and 2-ply kevlar. The blade is 6.1mm thick and weights 85g. Nittaku rates the blade as speed 7.5 and control 11.0. The Supercore is designed to enhance feeling and increase the blade's lightness. The Kevlar sports superior feel to carbon and a nice sweet spot.
I have sealed this blade and it plays a little bit faster/harder. It's perfect for gluing. There are two edge dings, one is not serious and the other is nearly undetectable. They are noted in my pictures.
I liked this blade. It made my game extremely well-rounded and it turned me into the club's defensive wizard. It's kinda nice having a defensive blade and still putting winners past people. Plus, my mid-distance play actually improved over my lighter CPen.
