Table tennis stores in Asia never fail to impress me with their displays and equipment selection.

would be cool to have a testing area with some tables.

I guess in a big city like tokyo space is not abundant.

PPP, I agree. I remember seeing a store in HK that did but that might have also because they offered playing facilities.
