We are running an experiment on training beginners with a Robot. We have a couple of beginner players and have started their training.

Here is our youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUgqCH-qmehbdIrqDtGipew/videos?view_as=subscriber" rel="nofollow - Table tennis training

The goal of the training

  • The objective is to get the players to learn basic strokes quickly to enjoy playing the game as early as possible.
  • Try out different training methods and document our process.

Here are some concepts we use in our training

  • we introduce the players to all strokes within a few sessions
  • using the idea of spaced repetition in table tennis training
  • use the idea of mixing up the practice versus the regular blocked practice
  • Currently, we train using a Robot

We have done around 13 sessions so far, and each session is around an hour

We have uploaded videos of a few days so far and will be recording regularly.
