Hi everyone

I play basement table tennis with my dad (we have an outdoor table and play about once every 1-2 weeks for fun. He has been playing with a premade Butterfly bat for a year or two now (The Butterfly Tiago Apolonia TA X3 if anyone is wondering). The rubbers are very worn out now and should be changed.

I play with the DHS NEO Hurricane 3 on the fh of my Tuttle Winner Allround blade (not too different to his blade) and he had a go. He found it flew off the table a bit too much when doing topspin and wanted a slightly less ‘offensive’, but still very grippy new rubber if that makes sense.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I imagine a tensor will be too bouncy. The requirements would probably just be:

— Medium-medium high throw angle (less spin sensitive and bouncy than Hurricane 3 NEO, but not unloopable like low throw rubbers).
— Good control/low-ish speed, but still has enough grip to be able to topspin — ideally the rubber can be used well for blocking etc and can hold it’s own in topspin rallies
— Good durability — he won’t want to have to replace it constantly. Ideally will last 1 year (if we follow the ‘change it once a year if you play once a week’ rule).

Thanks very much for any advice :)

DHS G666 — Just as grippy as H3N IMHO, but slower/more controllable. Find it on AliExpress for about $13 US. Highly recommended!

JUPITER 2 - 39 degrees

Softer top sheet than H3 - easier to play with (slower top end) but just as fast

However, Jupiter 2 is more tacky than grippy, maybe Yinhe Big Dipper. You cannot go wrong with either one.

There is no real "pro", "prov" or "NT" H3 in the market.
