There is no good sense to engage a sparring partner in the drills. Just use the multiball series in proper manner. You will have training intensity growing up.

Be happy.

I'm with you that multiball is the most effective method of training, but not the only one. it is a mistake not to combine it with exercises on the table. Symmetric exercises require much more concentration by the player, and it is very appropriate to include them in training routines, not only in initiation at all levels.

Indeed it is a big mistake to say multi ball is the only training method one should use.

For anyone that is close to high level, would know multiball can only work on certain parts. Human sparing partners is still required.

I disagree.  Multiball is only a limited representation of real table tennis.  Two obvious problems are that consecutive balls rarely come from the same spot in a game.  And in a game you have to account for the effect of your previous shot, in multiball you don't.

It's easy to spot players who trained exclusively using multiball.  They think they can kill every shot, and get frustrated and mystified when they fail.

Hi,

Rounding out this discussion would include a discussion of the usage of table tennis robots integrated with the other two methods.

I do happen to know that, as a common protocol in Japan, robots are used in the initial stages of technique development, then, upon a degree of stability, robots are not used to any considerable degree.

Long it has been said that there are no table tennis robots in China.  This is factually untrue, however it is figuratively true in communicating the country's perspective on them.

How the three methods are integrated is a task of the coach.

Very recently, technical developments have introduced a fourth method: the virtual reality devices that simulate table tennis play in a manner that has been reported to be beneficial to the developing table tennis player.  In the sport of golf, a myriad of devices of this type hold a prominent place for many serious golfers.

Thanks.

That's right, better when more tools we have to develop our work , although some are more commonly used and others in specific cases. What works with one person may not work with another and other alternatives can help solve it. Thanks
