Hello.
I have a problem. I'm playing in a club and I try to play a sidespin when I serve. But it does not work. Can someone give a tip how I can play a side spin serve? Thanks in advance. stortzi |

Move the bat from right to left with a high handspeed, use your entire arm to generate the spin. Later on try using the body as well.

Hi stortzi,
Most people dont put enough effort into the serve. A spinny serve is done using as much racket speed as possible. That means using body, arm, legs, wrist. Pendulum serves can be aided by letting the arm hit chest making the wrist snap even faster. On side spin, I put as much energy into it as I would a smash. As hard as I can either backhand or forhand. You can make a slow double bounce side spin serve this way but you are just brushing the ball. All the energy has to go into making spin, not speed. Once you get where you can do that, then work on disguising it. |
